Pocket Pistols

Featured Replies

Makes you wonder why Thailand stopped allowing foreigners to have guns. It wasn't because they were using them against locals. Gun crime here is high, and 100% locals, so that ban wasn't anything besides ignorance in politics.

Funny guy 😁

More realistic than you ever get out of Cambodia, since you started to act like an A H in your own thread.

Coming from a farm where we had hunting rights and fired arms since I could hold one.

Is there any reasons why we should need a gun in Thailand?

The same as in any other country as far as handguns. No need for rifles or shotguns, as there's no hunting here.

True, and I answered you question, but seems you carry your anger at me from other threads with you.

Anyway, I have here in Thailand tactical flashlights, and trust them more than our gun locked down in a safe. Handy and effective even in daylight, and cant harm anyone, either be used against you.

Thailand is the safest country for expats except some gulf states. Even there is local brutality and incidents, those expats/foreigners who accidentally get killed here, is either to intoxicated and created a situation for themselves, or involved in crimes and gets what they deserves.

I sold guns before I moved here and we rarely sold an LCP. It is a very light gun and that doesn't help when shooting, although it's okay, like all guns, if you're very close, which most encounters are. If you're just putting the gun in your pocket, all of them are okay besides those w/o a safety.

Though I don't generally carry in public, I have a couple of pocket guns.  Bersa and Makarov.  They're not fun at the range like a Berreta 92FS or my Ruger Mark1, but I didn't buy them to run boxes and boxes of ammo through them.  I practiced so I can hit the target, and they fit in my pocket.  My brother carries his LCP everywhere and he likes it fine.  I standardized on the 92FS/ PPKs configuration for all my self defense guns.  Double action, ambidextrous decocking safety, etc.  The Ruger Mark1 was my very first gun, but it's a fun gun, not for self defense.

My old roommate at Texas A&M said this about his Saturday Night Special:  As long as it can hit the guy on the barstool next to me.  We were poor students and he bought what he could afford. (Another plus for the LCP- cheap as chips)

Why are you even chiming in here in the first place other than to be a troll? Its not like you can offer ANY insights into ANY handgun use in the USA.

I can start a Moose Hunting topic for you? You guys have moose. I shot a moose with a 6.5x55 once. Thats more your speed.

There are also many crimes on innocent expats here, where carrying a gun would have stopped it. If a local can carry a gun an expat should also be allowed. No legitimate reason not to. Many European countries, along with New Zealand and Singapore, are a lot safer. Intentional homicides here are higher than the US, and gun crime, with mass shootings is rising. I lived in the US for 62 years, in major cities and in the country, out daily, and rarely saw any crime, although it does happen.

Glock 19 was my 'go to', and didn't even need, bother with holster.

Knowing the mixed group of the expats mentality who coming to Thailand, I doubt it would make it more safe here for us. Easy to stay out of trouble.

Hope you realize that having a gun for self defence and killing an "attacker" makes you a murderer.

Not if they threaten your life and are armed. That's when it's self defense.

In that segment you can't go wrong with ize, weight, caliber, standard grip, reliability

Again it comes down to personal experience and feeling

we don't have rulers. We have however elected officials who answer to the people.

Glock 42 are fairly compact and can be had for Bt.50,000.

He's talking about buying one in the US that he can use for conceal carry.  Don't bother with .22, .25, or .32.  Get a .38 or a 9mm at a minimum and use a self-defense round, for example, Federal Premium Hydra-Shok Deep 99-grain JHP.

Ditto on the Glock 42 as compact conceal carry or as you stated, a pocket pistol.

Glock 42 .380 APC.  That will set you back about $450 in the US.  Check your State's requirements regarding Conceal Carry as well as any agreement your state of residence has with other States regarding Concealed Carry if you plan to travel in the US.

We have a written constitution that the elected officials adhere to.

Presumably you would be getting a license for it and to carry it? How exactly would that work as I cant see you being authorised to carry a gun unless you are police or in the army.
