Cut down to 37.5 million?

That is still more than 3 times the number of tourists that made up that 7% gdp figure you quoted for 2022….during the height of the pandemic.

Tourist arrivals doesnt men SA

Tourists have a great influence on small family driven businesses, the rest is big cooperations who is laundering their money through tourist projects driven with small margins or losses.

Your attempt through 15 different profiles to bad mouth Thailand is struggling beyond a doubt.   You're a joke and no one takes you seriously.

  • No, of course not. The Israeli girl had no point at all.   There are 71 million Thai people. They produce a GDP of 515 billion USD.. Tourism only contributes a measly 7 .2 % to this GDP figu

Well it that's the case then they must be as silly as he is. I disapointed in the moderaters of this sight for approving  Bob idiot's application for a new handle every second day and allowing to cojur up more rubbish....or maybe they enjoy his dribble.I hope not..unfortunately this sight is nothing like the sensible ,informative, and enjoyable sight that it was 10 years ago and that is a shame.

Without tourism Thailand really struggles financially - COVID proved that beyond all doubt.

So did the now infamous Israeli girl have a point?

Or was she talking nonsense?

The pissraeli woman doesn't have a point because her country is a worthless parasite that wouldn't exist without US aid.

She's never been in the real Thailand apparently and thinks the entire country is based around the economy on Koh Phangan. These people may fly into Bangkok but then go straight into these tourism economies and they never see the outside world. What percent of tourists never see the real Thailand I wonder. Probably something crazy like 80%. That's why she got it so wrong.

Not tourism, but the West essentially did build up Thailand. Without western inventions what would Thailand have? Temples and Boxing and what else?

Thai food, rice wine, silk, Thai massage, farming, and a few other things. But the same could be said for the most developed places in Asia like Singapore, HK, Japan, S. Korea, etc.

I'm curious how much of their major infrastructure they build. I assume the original towers in Bangkok were helped by foreign companies until they learned, but how much have they? I know that recent tower that collapsed had foreign companies involved so I wonder how many others are like this. Ditto for the massive and very impressive malls.

The entire world would be pre-industrial revolution if it weren't for the West.

You mean, most of Asia, yes, but the Japanese are better engineers than their counterparts in most Western countries. Also, maybe they would have all been better off without all the Western industrialization. I would argue that Thailand was a better place 35 years ago, before all the heavy inflow of Western technology gentrified the place even more.

No, I mean the entire world. I'm not arguing that the industrial revolution is good or bad, but without Western European and American inventions, the rest of the world would be living in the 1700s or earlier.

I know Germany paid for their BTS system.

The BTS system in Thailand was funded through private investment by the Bangkok Transit System Public Company Limited (BTSC), with Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) awarding a 30-year concession for its design, construction, and operation. Essentially, it was not a public project funded by government funding, but rather a private undertaking.

I thought I was right; the project was funded by Thailand, with the only German involvement being the Siemens trains. Do your homework first.
