The real reason why Musk left DOGE

Featured Replies

Both Trump and Musk knew from the outset that Musk could be employed as "an unpaid special government employee" for a maximum of 130 days.

Musk initially said he would perform his role as an outside volunteer but the White House later confirmed he would operate as an unpaid special government employee.

That designation covers those working for the government for no more than 130 days in a year.

Musk was hired as a special government employee, which means he can only work 130 days in a 365-day time period. While he did not commit to leaving the administration by any particular date, it will be 130 days since Trump’s inauguration on 30 May.

Earlier, I read somewhere — forgot where — that subsequently, part-time employment is allowed for a limited period, forgot how long and can't find a source for it now.

Musk was quoted as mentioning the 130-limit only yesterday,

Trump apparently never mentioned it.

The real reason why Musk left DOGE

It is because he got used by Trump. Elon thought that by spending a lot of money on the campaign, he would have a say in the policies.

He realized too late that Trump is an egoist, and that his mindset doesn't match with his, because Trump has no idea what he is actually doing.

The only thing Trump cares about is reversing everything Biden voted into law, regardless if good or bad, because he has no idea what he does.

Elon has voiced opposition to some of Trump's policies a few times, so it was better to leave. He has also made clear that he will reduce his contributions to political campaigns, which everyone, other than MAGA, understands that he dumped Trump because of disagreements.

And since we know that Elon is the richest man in the world, it wouldn't surprise me if he uses his money to take Trump down.

My two bits …he left because his presence is so toxic that it was killing his company’s and that toxicity was reflecting on the felon making him look bad.also he served his usefulness so he was discarded.hope he learned his lesson!

If they wanted to keep him around they could've put him on the payroll for some minimum amount of renumeration. I called BS.

Could be he just got tired of seeing lefties burning Tesla dealerships.

Musk claimed he would save $1 trillion.  MAGA believed him.  He did not deliver. This has had a negative impact on the  budget, because  the Trump  administration promised tax reductions  assuming that DOGE would deliver $1 trillion.

Elon Musk and the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE)  repeatedly claimed that Social Security claims were rife with fraud. A DOGE team member claimed  that 40% of phone calls made to the Social Security administration  in respect to direct deposit instructions  were fraudulent.  Musk claimed that tens of millions of dead people are still collecting benefits and Trump repeated the  statement. Musk was wrong and was unable to provide any evidence  to support his claims. He embarrassed the president, who tore a piece out of him for those statements.

However, the final straw seems to have been when Secretary of Treasury Scott Bessent held Musk accountable for his claims and promises. Bessent did what any responsible manager does when an employee blows hot air and doesn't deliver. Musk reportedly got into a physical confrontation with Bessent. Maybe Musk thought he could bully  or intimidate  the openly gay Bessent, but the Secretary is one tough guy and he didn't back down.   There is no place for Musk's odd behavior in  the WH. he was a loose cannon. Trump  gave him every opportunity and  stuck his neck out for him. Musk shot his mouth off about meeting with the Chinese.  It was Trump who stopped that as soon as he found out.  He gave Trump no other option. It has been reported that the republican congressional caucus and WH staff wanted him to go away as well. He was not described as a team player.

Musk isn't all that bright when it comes to understanding and working with people in politics. Remember, there were two people originally named for DOGE, Musk and Vivek. Vivek was at least smart enough to see what was coming and got out after only a few weeks. Musk thought he was going to be the straw that stirred the drink. But he ended up looking like a fool.

I never quite understood how that dynamic came to be. Donald Trump is a teetotaler, abstaining from alcohol and drugs, while Elon Musk has been open about his frequent use of substances like psychedelics and marijuana. Yet, despite their stark personal differences, they have found themselves aligned in various political and social arenas. It’s a fascinating example of how politics creates unexpected alliances and brings together individuals who might otherwise have little in common. As the saying goes, politics truly makes strange bedfellows.

Musk should have stayed in the background.

Someone as smart as him should have known that there would be a lot of backlash

when you fire that many (useless) people , dry up fraude , expose money

flowing to unnamed accounts , wellfare fraude, stop the cia money through USAID,

cut off NGO's of the elite/billionairs, ....

Tall trees catch more wind.

And now see his work done for nothing because Trump and congress are doing nothing

to prevent this in the future.

And instead of saving money and lower the debt , Trump is spending more.

Peacefully. When the left wig out and do mass arson attacks after being wound up tighter than a whirling dervish by their fake news, they do it PEACEFULLY.

His efforts will be remembered for exposing the lefts love for actual industrial scale corruption after many years of endlessly freaking out about imaginary corruption.

No wonder they are triggered by him. He outplayed them all - the danger of brainless groupthink?

You are posting nonsense....AGAIN.

Corruption is taking place as we write. It's a constant. Only the rules and the players change. Now bribery is allowed. Is that not a form of corruption?
