The best hospital and Dr.

How is the public hospitals timeline when it comes to treatment and procedures when discovered a lump in the breast?

Anyone have experience with this hospital ?

Vejthani is a private hospital, not public. Nothing wrong with it, but if you want to go private, I highly recommend this hospital which is solely for breast and run by one of the country's best breast surgeons:

Naturally,  public hospitals are slower than private where one can often get biopsy done one first day there  and results in a few days.

Getting the initial diagnostic work up done at a private hospital and then switching to public IF the lump turns out to be malignant (note that most do not) is often  a good strategy in terms of balancing speed and cost.

IF it proves to be malignant the best public hospital option is  https://qscbc.org/en/contact-us-2/

Thank you Sheryl, we got an appointment tomorrow at Vejthani, and will await the results and possibilities we will have, when we know a little bit more.

It is a firm quite big "flat" lump that appeared to us quite unnoticed until yesterday. However no pain, and more like a loose lump

Again Thanks

And you where right, several cysts in both breasts, classified as harmless, but found abnormal punctuate calcifications in linear distribution at the other breast. So we are going back for biopsy tomorow. Still low suspicion for malignancy. Not sure this is for dragging us in for more costly researches, but we are not willing to wait and search out other options, so made a package price with them for the autopsy.  Average priced compared to all private hospitals and made sure we will have all documents and pictures handed to us in case we need to continue with another hospital, or back in Norway.

Just a good reminder to make sure your gf or wife gets a annular check up with mammograms from 40 years and up. Unnecessary worries when something suddenly appears.

She had every second year physical check ups, and latest in last December, but never mammograms. So finding a big lump now was a shock.

Indeed, if she had had prior mammograms to compare to,  biopsy now could likely be skipped.

She just turned 40 this year so really not been the targeting age for mammograms yet, but if, if we just had done it before we could see the changes. Also for hpv and other things that can appear, and turn the world upside down in a fraction of a moment.

You probably already know that breast cancer screening is being introduced under Thai National Health Service. As you've stated, 40+ is the qualifying age for those who also have immediate family history of breast cancer.
