LA Mayor Bass statement on LA ICE roundup of Illegals…

Yeah, Pendelton is just up the 5 from the border...

The I-5 in SD and the OC are mostly clear but once any vehicle gets into LA county traffic usually comes to a crawl.  Doubt an actual Marine convoy of MRAP's will actually be seen in downtown LA.  Marines are warfighters and have little training in civil disturbance response.  Active Duty military deployment to US cities should be an absoulute last resort.  I mean all civilian law enforcement resources have to exhausted and all NG resources have to exhausted and then active duty Army soldiers or Marines can be deployed to resture order.  CA has a statewide law enforcement mutual aid system and this mean civilian LE throughout the state can be called in to assist in LA. This has not occurred. At least not yet.

The mayors of the blue cites are the worst people.  Look at NYC, LA, SF, etc.    Their job is to run the city, not fight for the illegals.

  • New York ya say……LA SF ya say and just what do those 2 states have in common???why Mike thats success they are the richest most prosperous taxed states were they contributed to prop up the failing red

Yes, California allows non-citizens to become police officers under specific conditions. Senate Bill 960, effective January 1, 2023, removed the requirement for police officers to be U.S. citizens or permanent residents who have applied for citizenship. Instead, individuals must be legally authorized to work in the United States, such as those with valid work permits, including lawful permanent residents (green card holders), asylees, refugees, or Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) .However, the law does not permit undocumented immigrants to become police officers, as federal law prohibits hiring individuals without legal work authorization.

LAPD hired two in the DACA program and allegedly the two graduated from the academy. One minor problem is that the two cannot purchase a firearm because they are not legal.  This means they can carry a department issued firearm while on duty but cannot own a personal firearm.  This is how crazy LAPD "leadership" and the clowns who run LA are acting.

Assimilation is myth. America is starkly divided along racial and ethic lines and the numbers are so great now they've formed a coalition with immigrants (except the evil racist white South African immigrants) against the original American population. The majority of blacks will align with the new coalition just like the mayor of L.A.

All of this was totally predictable and the reason why multicultural societies can not exist for long.

It existed quite nicely for 200 years. America was a grand success as a melting pot of multi cultural society. Perhaps they went too far with the Muslim immigrants, or didn't quality them enough. Who knows? Some of the hardest working and most honest people I know in LA are Latinos. Immigrants make America the nation it is.

But, it is ultimately about bitter, angry white men like Trump losing their dominance of society, that started all this division and hatred. This so called crackdown is simply an expression of his desire to be a dictator.

The foreign flag argument at a protest or rally is weak. For decades I have seen the Mexican flag displayed when Lakers won a champiosnhips and  riots started.  What about the Palestinian flag during the "free Palestine" protests when a major freeway was blocked in LA?

Spot on Mr Mike!

In Thailand, a Russian couple didn't pay for a massage!!!!

In America, 10 million illegals are being deported.

The year is 2025.

Where does the Constitution outline what due process an illegal immigrant is entitled to?

You're such a phony.

The constitution doesn't distinguish between illegal aliens and anyone else. If you are present in the USA, you are considered to be a "person" entitled to due process. However, due process is flexible. In short, a "person" is entitled to whatever process is due under the circumstances.  So, for example, in the case of an illegal alien, the applicable due process may be streamlined.

Are you really this ignorant? Californios were present long before US nationals poured in for the California gold rush. In effect it was the US citizens who were the illegals. The USA invaded and took California by force, denying the local citizens their  rights of political liberty and freedom. If it wasn't for the hard working Mexican immigrants, California's agriculture and hospitality sectors would collapse. It's public services  would grind to a halt.

The Californios that were a result of the Spanish invasion, yes?

If it can be "streamlined", it is not the same.

Of course, pre-Trump, everyone was assimilating

US water cannon to clear the streets. Im watching scenes of arson right now and beleive that the authorities should use live ammo.

"What due process..."  OK, I see what your question was.  My point was that due process is due process, but that doesn't mean everyone gets exactly the same process.

So, your answer to my question: "Where does the Constitution outline what due process an illegal immigrant is entitled to?" should have been, "I don't know, and I don't know that it does."

Illegals have the same due process as citizens in criminal courts, not in immigration courts.

If an illegal alien were truly entitled to due process, it they stepped across the border, they could not just be turned around told to step back.

Legal immigrants are what make a country great. The division really started with Obama and continued with Bidens open border policy.

"Persons" are entitled to due process.  So you're right, the constitution itself doesn't elaborate.

Ruh roh...

Now the mostly peaceful arsonists are burning Waymo cars.  While Judy Chu (D) claims it's under control, nuthin' to see here.

That's because the original immigration policy in the US allowed only "white people of good character" which meant Europeans from a very narrow region of Europe. It's easy to have intermarriage and assimilation when everyone is the same race and looks familiar.

Doesn't matter if they're hard working or nice people they're Mexicans and that's why they fly the Mexican flag. Americans maybe should reconsider inviting in the entire world because they're nice and work hard.

You're playing silly rhetorical games. What was the state of CA in 1850? The Mexicans didn't start pouring over the border until over 100 years later when there was an entire city built up and government services etc... They are parasites on the Americans.

If the US ever cedes that territory to the Mexico they should return it in the same state it was in 1850. Let the Mexicans have the the dirt and build back better.

Alot of blacks and mexicans voted for trump though. Assimilation is working better there than anywhere else

Because working blacks and Mexican Americans see the negative impact illegal aliens have on their communities.

The working Americans the left deplores, are not as stupid as the leftist elites think.

Just be clear. My initial statement was simple because I was trying to explain for people who don't understand how it all works. And the reality today is that the constitution means what the Supreme Court says it means.  Otherwise, it's just ink on paper.

It looks like this is going the way Trump and his people said it would:

1.  Mexican and Palestine flags displayed

2.  CHP-California Highway Patrol vehicles burned on the 101 Freeway. What does the CHP have to do with ICE? The CHP was clearing the busiest freeway that goes through downtwon LA-the 101.

3.  Just like in the past a high end shoe store has been looted.

4.  The LAPD has declared a Tactical Alert and this means no days off and all officers work 12 hour shifts.  Also, 50% of police personnel is devoted to the civil unrest and the remaining answer calls for service.  This means evern longer response times than normal.  Normal LAPD response times have never been good to begin with.

5. By now the LA County Law Enforcement Mutual Aid plan should have been activated and officers from the county should be available to assist.  Once all available officers have responded and the rioting and civil disturbance have not been dealt with then NG should be called.  Today the NG was called before this mutual aid was activated but too bad we are there now so Mayor Bass  and Gov Gavin  should accept it and deal with the riots.

6. The esteemed Gov Gavin needs to stop with "Trump's mess" that we are left to deal with.  This was a mess long before anything Trump did or did not do.
