If you weren't simply using the word to prompt a reaction, I'd suggest you need to revisit the definition of scam.

That said, having actually gon back to read the post rather than just the title, I think if you are taking a paid employee out of the bar during business hours, it's not a scam.

paying the bar so she can quit, dodgy -- especially if she's splitting the cash, which of course she is.  

Now if they have invested heavily in the girl, (boob job perhaps) or she owes them money, it is justified.
