Unsettling Experience at 700 Years Stadium – Advice or Similar Encounters?

Featured Replies

  • Popular Post

Just wanted to get some thoughts or advice from others here. I’ve been running at the 700 Years Stadium in   for a while now, usually quite late at night. Last night was no different   I finished my run around 10.30pm, tired, sat down on a bench near Gate 2 with my bottle of water and a couple of croissants. Bike parked nearby, same as always.

During my run, I actually passed a policeman cycling around the stadium. He was friendly, said hello, and I replied in Thai that I was out exercising. Said something like "yes, very hot running." He smiled and rode on. So I know there is some police presence there at night, which makes this next bit even more confusing.

Not long after, this Thai guy   possibly Chinese Thai   parked his own bike a bit further down the track, away from the main area. Then he walked straight up to me, sat uncomfortably close, and before I could react, suddenly hugged me. Full on, no words, just wrapped his arms around me. Completely out of nowhere.

Instinctively I shoved him off. He got the message, went back to his bike, and rode off.

I’ve seen all sorts of characters around that area, but never had something this strange happen before. I wasn’t shocked as much as just disgusted. I thought briefly about following him, but didn’t. No idea what he was on   possibly drugs, not acting normal at all.

Now I’m wondering what I should do. Should I have reported it to the police? Or to whoever manages the 700 Years Stadium area? Is it even worth reporting something like this? It’s hard to know whose responsibility it is.

Would be genuinely helpful to hear from anyone who’s had a similar experience or has practical advice on how to deal with something like this. Ideally, something structured   like:

Is it worth informing the police even if the guy's long gone?

There a security office at the stadium entrance, is it worth reporting?

Are there better lit or safer times to run there?

I usually run late because of the heat and it’s been fine up to now, but this really threw me off. Just trying to process it and figure out what to do next.

Let it go ?

So late. Nutjobs aplenty at that hour. He probably thought you were one too. Tell security, but they’ll probably say the same. No aircon 24/7 gyms if you absolutely must run?

I highly suggest you don't go to the gas station around midnight then.

I've had at least 3-4 different occassions where people tried to have sex with me in a cabin and in one of them the guy actually recorded me while I was peeing and I had to grab his phone from him and delete the video and told him to GTFO asap.

Who knows, maybe 700 years stadium has became a place to hookup? I have no idea lol. But tbh I'm not surprised. It also happen often at the toilets of plenty of gas stations.

Very weird indeed.

OMG, maybe if men had been subtly assaulting you in various ways since puberty, as happens to most women, you would not lose your mind over this small event???

Somebody hugged me, should I call the police??!!

Have fun with that.

You’re out alone in cm late at night presumed single without a female companion in a place where it’s a gay meet up area, what do you expect? The next guy will probably be more bold and give you a friendly slobbering wet kiss.

Chet Yot or Jed Yod (depending on the dialect of the speaker) is a sub district in the Chang Phueak district in cm named after the temple “Jed (seven) Yod (monument/peaks)” or whatever, which is 700 years old.

Is that the same as 'brought him off'?

"hookup", men with men? That's totally outlandish, isn't?

Croissants are high in calories. Waste of time running if you are going to eat them. They are also gay which is why the Chinese guy hit on you.

Thank you! I've learned something today!

Bread has a gender! Croissants are gay! Won't scientists be surprised!
Tell me, is it true that rutabagas are actually trans? Where does one go to find out these things?

Go for a brisk walk at 5pm then eat an apple. Ive never heard of fitness people recommending eating junk food at 10.30pm as a good option. 2 croissants would be 500 to 800 calories. Pretty dumb at 10.30pm.

The old city is good for walking.

Would you take a minute to clear up a few things for us?
Which foods are gay and which are straight? I'd hate to be sending out the wrong message. Is it based on the shape of the food? Or is it the country of origin?

Most desserts look gay don't they?

Steak looks straight.

Take a look at the gay flag then compare.

Typically those with such a fascination with a particular choice of lifestyle are expressing their true desire and identity aren’t you?

You want to meet up at 11pm over tea and scones?

1 hour jogging 550 calories burned

2 croissants about 550 if small but 700 to 800 if large

Sitting in a chair drinking water and watching a movie has a better calorie deficit.

The OP's not too bright.

Have you considered the remote possibility that he's not jogging to lose weight?  Perhaps he's jogging for muscle exercise and aerobic conditioning? When many people exercise, weight loss has little to do with their motivation.

Doctors recommend walking. Jogging is bad for over 50s.

there is evidence that excessive running can lead to temporary heart injury, with some runners showing elevations of blood troponins and B-type natriuretic peptide, suggesting damage to the heart chambers

Open your perspective a bit not everyone is on diet. I often cycle at 0300am until 0630 - 0700 am and two croissants would just be a teaser to breakfast.😉
