Too late, baby - Muslim Mayor of NYC

Featured Replies

This Mamdani muslim guy is quite a piece of work. The S.O.B. actually campaigned for Trans health care and his mother is a famous writer/director who did a film called Kama Sutra.

Just smokescreens to advance his jihadist agenda. Let's just hope enough New Yorkers aren't taken in so he gets stopped at the polls on election day.

So what? As long as he administers the laws of the city and the constitution it will be fine. i find the southern bible thumping nutjobs much more threatening.

Why on earth would anyone be laughing at London? Londoners are overwhelmingly happy with Khan and he's the first mayor ever to be elected for three terms. So again, why are "y'all" laughing? Try

My fellow Brits have seen this play before. Militant Tendency ( Liverpool ) destroyed Labours chances of election in the 1980's.    Added, the Muslim vote now controls Mayoral elections in L

What's wrong with trans health care? Do you think they're not people? Who cares what his mother did?

The point isn't whether it's right or wrong, even though it's really, really wrong. The point is that it's just a ruse. He's using this to make people believe that he doesn't have an Islamist agenda.

Why call it trans healthcare?

He is, or at least was, a Hamas supporter, yes?

I think he’s perfect fot NYC.

I don't want the guy to be mayor but there are plenty of American Muslims with progressive POV's including being pro LGBTQ civil rights. Yes they would be more secular.

Unfortunately, many on the left are so anti-Israel now (understandable to be anti-Netanyahu) that they have supported Hamas.

Yes I would hope voters would reject such people but it's their choice.

What is a secular Muslim? It’s a religion, not a race.

I could care less about Israel and Hamas. It's gotten so crazy in the USA now that support for Israel is considered necessary to be a mayor. I don't know about you, but I'm an American. I'm not a citizen of Israel. America First!!!

If that's your POV, you're welcome to it .

Personally I don't think Israel policy always comes up in mayor's races.
It would if the candidate has taken any kind of position, and certainly any indication of support for Hamas (basically Iran).

And if the population of the city is 15% Jewish.

Or maybe it means that they just don't give a sh#t about Israel. And why should they? It's a foreign country.

Ask the jews in the europe if they feel good about the migrant situation. The ones that are still left

I wouldn't say that.

Jews are not a monolith.

The orthodox ones tend to be pro Trump and right wing.

The majority in the US are more liberal and heavily democrats.

There is a lot of feeling among American Jews that there is a common ground with American Muslims being small minorities compared to Christians.

There really isn't massive Muslim immigration in the US like some parts of Europe except for certain areas in a few states such as Michigan.

I doubt that if he's perceived as being pro Hamas that very many Jews of any kind will vote for him. At this point I have no idea whether he is really pro Hamas or not.

My interest is in the future of democratic party politics in the US and the hope to be able to smash MAGA. I don't think he's going to help with that regardless.

The Forward, a Jewish newspaper or mediasite, commissioned a poll. 31% for Cuomo. 20% for Mandani, 18% for Lander. Lander and Mamdani cross supported each other. Most likely, he'll end up with more of the Jewish vote than Cuomo. American Jews are finally getting over their attachment to Israel. It's about time. And that means they are getting over their attachment to old time politicians like Andrew Cuomo who make a big deal about supporting Israel.

All President Trump has to do is stop treating Israel like it's special and keep on keeping out the immigrants. We don't need them.

Israel keeps America great? You mean without Israel America isn't great? Can't be great? Israel is great but America on its own isn't? Your just another clueless follower who has no understanding of America First. Another clueless neocon.

So many people jump on a bandwagon and go after some shiny new thing.  He is not the mayor yet.  It was just a primary.

Netanyahu may be chargeable for war crimes, but I don't see how the city of NYC has jurisdiction in that area.

Just like higher politicians have learned " It's easier to get forgiven for doing things that are illegal, than to get permission to to do them in the first place."

The ICC has already issued a warrant for his arrest and several other Israeli officials. That said, I don't think that the NYC police dept. has the authority to enforce that warrant. That's a federal matter. Still, I wish the Feds would do it just to make clear to the Israelis that the US isn't it's puppet anymore.
