  • Trump isn't, nor should he be, responsible for the healthcare of the rest of the world.    Much of the money is creamed off by corrupt politicians before it reaches the needy anyway.

  • Bad news.  There are studies out already showing that millions starve every year because the collective West can't afford to prop up the entire 3rd world.    That's the way the world is, and

There is a logic in diverting foreign aid to the poor within the country. States like Alabama and Kentucky have many poor people and no universal healthcare or education to pull themselves up. They won't get it either in this century.

What the BBB does is to give a hand to the top 1% through tax breaks, which is absolutely no help to the American poor.

So what about all the money being syphoned out of the aid given going into pockets. Does anyone think Trump stopping this is a bad thing?

There will be bodies piling up the streets.

Tug, I don't think all of them are purposely wanting to be cruel. They are just self consumed by their economic squeeze and thus do not care about anything or anybody outside of their own interests. Explains a lot about the current state of US politics.

Like Obama did?  Or Biden, or Clinton, or... or...  Millions died every year on their watch, too.

And yet, as Americans we did have USAID lessening the number that died on their watch. Under the trump regime ... like you say millions more die ...

Classic Liberal hand wringing.

There are people starving in the USA. People dying because they cannot afford healthcare. People homeless. National debt at 36 Trillion dollars.

Who elected the US as a global leader? A bastion of morals?

Trump has already shown how easy it is to control borders and security risks.

Why should they be paying for this?

You obviously don't (want to) know how it works.😆

Aid organisations are aware of potential corruption and usually don't trust governments to handle subsidies for this reason. They directly fund projects and control the use of funds.

That math works for a private $70 billion mortgage over 100–200 years at 4.625%—but the Treasury borrows differently:

  1. Issuing fixed maturities
The Treasury issues bills, notes, and bonds with set maturities and coupons, then redeems or refinances principal at each maturity—no perpetual amortization.

  2. Capturing lower rates
The average yield on public debt was about 2.5% in 2023, not 4.625%.

  3. Rolling over debt
With a ~6-year average maturity, roughly one-sixth of debt matures annually; in 2024, the Treasury rolled over $28.5 trillion.

  4. Paying finite interest
FY 2023 net interest totaled $678 billion; interest is paid as due; principal at maturity.

NB: Inflation substantially reduces the real value of outstanding debt over time.

Bottom line: $70 billion boosts this year’s borrowing but isn’t a perpetual 4.625% mortgage—and it’ll still wind up funding billionaire tax cuts under Trump’s Big Beautiful Bill.

First time I googled it stated 4.625, now it states ... "The average interest rate on the US national debt is currently around 3.28%" ... go figure.

Lets look at it this way, Ms Google again ... "The annual interest payment on the US national debt is currently projected to be over $1 trillion. This is based on estimates from the U.S. Bureau of Economic Analysis for fiscal year 2025. This figure has doubled in the past five years" ...

Tax revenues received, net (4.5T) ... "During Fiscal Year (FY) 2024, the IRS collected more than $5.1 trillion in gross taxes, processed more than 266.6 million tax returns and other forms, and issued nearly $490.6 billion in tax refunds" ...

Interest about 20% of taxes received, only a net of 4.6T ... BUT wait, already spent that, and then some.   So to pay the interest, even that needs to be borrowed .. "The total federal spending for the U.S. in fiscal year 2024 was $6.75 trillion" ...

And Trump just submitted a '$ ? T' budget, basically on credit, as enough taxes not received yet :cheesy:

And what needs to be done, and this is just a guess, if no additional spending in 2025 ... "The legislation would raise the debt ceiling by $5 trillion, going beyond the $4 trillion outlined in the version passed by the House in May" ...

They already know they can't afford to pay the bills and the interest. ...

..."Note: (06/23/2025) Some categorizations and numbers in the Ways and Means' section of the table below have been updated to more accurately reflect the bill's potential impact.

The House of Representatives’ Fiscal Year (FY) 2025 reconciliation bill – titled the One Big Beautiful Bill Act of 2025 (OBBBA) – would add $2.4 trillion to primary deficits over the coming decade, adding $3.0 trillion to the debt including interest. If its temporary provisions are extended without offsets, we estimate it would add $5.0 trillion to the debt including interest." ...

Wish I could run to the bank every year, and borrow more money, when I couldn't make the previous years payment on the money I spend.   That's happened every year since 1929, with every new F'g idiot.   And the people have what to say ... "OK, take my money, and we'll even vote for you again' ... but don't touch my pronouns.   Som nam na

Don't ask me why I stopped producing taxable income once I got enough.  Why we invest in TH, in the wife's name.

Of course JFK wanted to put and end to that, the Fed & Central banking ... how'd that work out for him :cheesy:

Although I think the Fed had to stand in line, behind the CIA & war mongers.  Maybe a joint action :coffee1:

Some people argue that marginalized communities cannot succeed without assistance from the USA. This mindset reflects colonialism and white supremacy.

Shame on you.

Has the Lancet published a report on how many people have dies as a result of Putin's attack and war on Ukraine?

Reminds me—Trump is cutting off foreign aid to Ukraine: weapons, and possibly sanctions — how many more millions need to die?

Two weeks after his own self-imposed two-week deadline for Putin to make peace expired without a whimper:

Weapons
He’s halted shipments of Patriot interceptors, 155 mm artillery rounds, GMLRS rockets, Stinger, AIM-7, and Hellfire missiles to Ukraine — for so-called “America First” reasons.

Sanctions
At the same time, the lack of new U.S. sanctions is helping Russia refill its war chest. Since January, not a single new restriction — and in some cases, even quiet rollbacks. This administration isn’t just dragging its feet — it’s actively weakening the pressure campaign. Analysts warn that dismantling these tools is giving Russia the space and time it needs to regroup and rearm.

Trump’s “America First”? — Let’s call it what it is: Russia First.

So Why the winging . the USA Doesn't have to support The rest of the world with Donations .

Donations made from the USA Taxpaying public ,

American people First ,ASK the Taxpaying  public First if it's ok to waste their Tax money on other countries .

No matter what the countries are using the money for The public Has the Right to know .

So can we apply this ridiculously short-sighted attitude to billionaires, Big Pharma, the Big Oil Companies, etc., who have been bilking the USA Taxpaying public?

The Lancet is an esteemed medical journal who also publish research on the value of vaccines including  the   mRNA; so is this latest anti Trump research to be trusted?

All the anti-vaxx conspiracy theory believers should think this one through.  If the Lancet is spreading misinformation about vaccines might it be doing the same about Trump and his policies?

Or is it more likely that Lancet is NOT spreading misinformation about either subject?

Is there any entity or person as prolific as Trump in spreading misinformation?

On this matter as on several others, a key issue is the sudden change of policy.

There is absolutely no way alternative solutions may be found and implemented quickly. For the people who were relying on it to survive, they may just die.

BS

The cruelty of the current regime knows no bounds

cutting food medical & HIV prevention measures ensures their legacy as ghouls

I understand wanting others to share responsibilities, however cutting aid without allowing agencies to transition to less dependence for trading local people

The regime have also made all data from the USAid programmes unavailable to anyone ensuring any persons/ countries trying to fill the void have to begin from scratch

Nasty horrid narcissism

If anyone doesn't believe that EVERYTHING Trump does is DESPICABLE, then you're just not paying attention. 😟
