Hi everyone!
I’m planning to travel out of Thailand and want to bring my two cats with me. Both are healthy and fully vaccinated, but I’m a bit overwhelmed by the process.

I’d love to ask:

  • Does anyone have a step-by-step guide or personal experience traveling with cats from Thailand?

  • Do you know any pet relocation agents, contacts, or vets who can help with the paperwork and procedures?

  • Any tips on the required documents, airport process, or airline advice?

I’d be super grateful for any information or recommendations you can share 🙏

Thank you in advance!

Do you think that where you want to take them has any bearing on the answer?

Maybe I’m looking for someone who actually has experience with this? What do you think?

Ask the airline that you will be using!

Yeah, thanks, I simply don't want to get any surprise at borders, so I need real experiences

You really have to tell what border you will enter

Let's say Vietnam/Cambodia for example with a flight and also the case via route with a Bus/Van.
I wanted to know if there's any health check to do in order to export and import 2 cats other than the vaccination which they already have.

More important. What countries are you going to? That is where you should be looking. Animal Farm Veterinary Hospital on On Nut Bangkok will look after pet transport medical stuff.

Every country has its own regulations. So you have to visit the OFFICIAL Website of the gouvernment.

The airline - if you travel by air - also has it's rules. You bring 2 different countries and 2 possible ways of transport...

Do youre homework and find out what is possible for YOU or maybe not.

If someone posts a step-by-step guide I'll be impressed.   Did you try AI?

Maybe it could help if you mentioned what country you would be going to? Different countries, different rules.

If soon, scratch any idea of going via Cambodia by ground transport.  Considering how pets attract the attention of corrupt customs agents, do carry a bit of extra cash on you.  Air travel seem to be best, to avoid 'surprises' or so I read.

Good Luck

It is illegal to take foodstuffs into Cambo/Vietnam. 555

Every airline has different procedure. Some do it themselves, other airlines demand using an agent specializing in pet transportation. So my experience traveling with a pet by airline A to destination X might not be the same as yours. So as others already answered - best for you is to contact the airline you might be using.

I’ve brought my pets to and from US, Thailand, Germany and Iran and there is no single blueprint for every country.  If you choose not to answer the important questions others have asked you then move on and do your own homework.
