  • Sometimes it feels good to be monogamous

  • Well, letting in all the Indians and Russians will make that happen, as HIV is widespread in both populations... even if under reported.

you can only vouch for yourself but not for your partner. Two decent middle aged women in my village have to take medication for HIV because their husbands (both now dead due to aids) used prostitutes

But better to be married to a lovely Thai lady with no need to not go 'bareback'.

Thai men often don't like to wear condoms, so sex between Thai people is often without it.

I remember what one of my former acointance, who was manager in a GoGo bar, told me.

He told me that girls working there who got HIV, usually goit from their Thai BF. They were using condoms with customers but not with BF. Of course, BF was butterflying bare with other girls....

That's also how they stupidly get pregnant

You should insist that they do so, or refuse to participate if they don't

Is that supposed to be humorous?

They should be mass vaccinating Prep alot of the girls in Pattaya and Bangkok who work every month - especially the transsexual community.

Strange enough a Hiv tested doc. is  not asked for Visa or immigration purpose.....amongst the many other asked doc. 🤔

Our precious forum members always like to bring up statistics and how difficult ot is to  contract hiv.

Statistics say a few dozen posters should be infected with a HIV virus. Maybe they just don’t know about it.

Money ??

Do some poeple actually pay money for sex?

How bizarre.

Why?

Obviously some have some decency to pay the girls they are going to use and just have some fun with before they leave them. So many cheap Charlie’s use poor girls just because they can!

More honorable to pay a professional for fear and square game instead of abusing someone with good intentions, or worst case pick up a girl who expect pay, but you dont!

Either way, you take something from them without giving anything back.

To be fair, it was pretty funny

In Thai relationships,  it is considered a sign of trust and real love not to use a condom.

The pill is cheap and easily avalable,  and at strategic locations (like Ramkhamhaeng)  there are 24-hours pharmacies to sell the morning-after pill.

Of course,  the pill doesn't help against HIV and STDs

If this is true a half a million people out of a population of 68 million is a staggering number. There are a lot of medications that make life with HIV a lot easier than it used to be, I wonder if there's any government assistance for something like that.

That means roughly 0.7 percent of the Thai population is HIV positive, which is actually lower than the global average of about 1 percent in many countries. Worldwide, around 0.6 percent of adults aged 15 to 49 are living with HIV, so Thailand’s rate isn’t especially high.

I believe Thai people can access PrEP, a group of medications used to prevent the spread of HIV infection, at very low cost or even for free through certain government programs. If more high-risk individuals in Thailand used these drugs, new infection rates could drop significantly.

The Thai Red Cross offers PrEP at very affordable prices, but according to the Thai Red Cross AIDS and Infectious Diseases Research Centre website, fewer than 4,400 people in Thailand are currently taking these medications. That figure should be at least half a million high-risk individuals, and if it were, you’d see a dramatic drop in new HIV cases.

just play with your hand and that's it. It's free too, perfect, pay nothing😏

What will you do with the sex worker for the month?

Using condoms would be the best option until you are sure she is clean. You never know when dealing with prostitutes (which Thailand does not have) What gets me is why so many teens are getting HIV now. Already 9000 reported cases. Thailand really needs to catch up with the world and begin giving sex education classes in school that really helps the kids understand and possibly prevents them from being with multiple partners.

Why is this needed?

I'll tell you dear Quentin, why it's needed.

It's needed because even among the non-sex worker girls contingent in Thailand, the "good" girls who don't sell  sex directly, even they, believe it or not, will have opened their legs for on average 6 to 10 guys, of whom at least 2 or 3 were in fact Russians, Israelis, Arabs or Ukrainians using prostitutes and thus could have infected these non-professional girls. Without them even knowing often, so they can't even warn you.

It's shocking how much sex girls are having before they meet you, even those in their early 20s. Shocking I tell you.

And when they tell you you will be having sex with all the people she had sex with before, that's not actually joke. That's more real than we'd like to believe.

You need to google the term ‘bug chasers’

Thailand did well to curb the AIDS pandemic decades ago. They need someone like Mechai Viravaidya aka Mr Condom previously to restart the initiative
