Despite this setback, the coalition retains 255 MPs, just above the 247 needed for a quorum in the 495-seat House. The upcoming resignations are poised to manage these delicate numbers.

Unbelievable that this is all possible in the Governments.. Cabinet reshuffles should not be allowed.. In which other country is happening this? Now even "elected" MP's step down to be replaced with others. Why do people have elections if those who were "elected" can be replaced with others?? Oh I forgot that is Thai democracy

He was allowed in as he was missing his grandkids and wasn't interested in politics anymore - what a xxxxxx joke, plus being pardoned shows where the power and control really is. 

I wonder if the Shins have started moving more assets overseas and updated their foreign passports.  Private jet(s) have been safety checked and on standby?

This is my understanding of how Thai elections work.  I’m sure somebody will correct me if I have something wrong.  
 

Some MPs can be replaced.  There are 2 types of MPs.  Many are directly elected by the people.  These cannot be replaced.  Some MP seats are assigned to each party based on the number of votes the party gets during the election.  The party then gets to assign the MPs from a list which was published before the election.  These MPs can step down and the position will be filled from the party list.

Cabinet reshuffles happen in another countries.  In the US it happens quite often.

You'll will find most politicians, especially Thai's, are criminals, but here they are revered as Gods. Thai's respect those with money, not character, or merit.

Every member should be elected and responsible to a constituency.  All the party list thing is a way to pay the big donors back by getting them a plush seat and priority room at the trough.

 

You would get a lot more done if you got rid of them. They make no sense and have no real efect on the elections

The winners of last election was just pushed aside due to some made up nonsense. Thai politics is a damn joke and a kindergarten!!

I think his time is coming, I think the PTP will not be as popular as he thinks the PP will, smarten up and be ready next election and could either get a majority or close enough.  I still think the jet is warming up and that he will be leaving soon.  The only question left will be whether a person not living in Thailand can fund and run a political party.  This is something that I think PP and BJT could very well get behind.  Once that is done, the PTP is finished or will start to become a joke.
