New COVID-19 Sub-Variant XFG Emerges in Thailand

Anything to make people scared.  They know that many years ago "new variant" meant that things were getting worse.  Even now, when "new variant" means things are actually getting better, they still want to capture that original fear.  "New variant has been discovered, therefore covid is not over, so listen to us, give us attention, give us money", something like that.

It's actually just another sub-variant of the Omicron variant which in and of itself was non-severe for the majority but you're right it's just continuing to push the old narrative that so many on here still believe.

This potential rise of XFG could shape the next phase of the pandemic.

Still pushing a "pandemic" narrative in the main-stream media when there literally is no Covid "pandemic."

There is no Covid Pandemic.  Covid can take it's place among the other annual flu-like respiratory infections.  But no - both state actors and the media need to fear-monger right up to engaging in misinformation - "the next phase of the non-existing pandemic."  Good job!

No point keep posting these scare stories as the the public's trust and respect for the WHO, big pharma, and the medical industry in general has seriously erroded in the last five years. For example, who listens to what the CCP stooge Ted Dross of the WHO says anymore?

This could be part of the reason why A&E departments are so full around the country. I was there a few nights ago and was surprised how many people there were just reporting symptoms of a cold.

Thais feel a bit off and they run to clinic. I understand if they are trying to get a medical certificate to skip work but other than that there is absolutely nothing anyone can do for a virus. Just treat the symptoms and suffer it out.

The work is to be done beforehand by building a strong immune system.

In the US and the UK, they 'run to' the ER. Typically, a Thai only needs a doctor's note if they are going to be off for three days or greater, but some employers may run a tighter ship.

I agree that working on one's own natural immunity, be it through dietary or lifestyle changes, should get much more emphasis than it does. But unfortunately, that doesn't seem to have much traction in the western/civilised world, let alone Thailand.

I'm shocked at what my wife doesn't know about basic germ/virus hygiene. I taught at a very fancy school some time back. Students wearing masks, doing this - but not doing that... shocking

I don't pretend to be a doctor or scientist, but I suspect one reason why the medical profession is skittish of Covid is the 15 million people around the world who died of it. Sure, one might think that is not a lot (whereas I do), but to scoff at attempts to prevent it happening again sounds outside the bounds of reason.

Of this variant???  Obviously not.  To make a big deal of it, while it is steadily becoming milder and milder is ridiculous and beyond logic.

Any medical professional that is thinking, "Although this virus has been steadily getting milder and milder, for years, shows every sign of continuing to do so, with current symptoms being cold or flu-like, we still need to think of it as the same virus that reportedly killed 15m people, and treat it as such", should not be a medical professional.

By the very nature of medicine, if it starts getting worse again, it will become immediately obvious, and we cannot live as though that is likely.  We have to carry on as normal.

The only sensible response is to monitor in the same way any virus or disease is monitored, but continue living our lives as normal.  Anyone who wants constant testing, masks, social distancing, etc., is either insane or a grifter, likely both.

I'll tell you how to stop anything like this happening again. A total international ban of gain of function experimentation. The next pandemic like the one we just had will come from a lab.

It's called information... keeping the public aware of what's happening.

Oh no. Shut down the borders. Mandatory vaccines for everyone. Mandatory wearing of mask for everyone.  All business venues closed.  Nah, the world's not falling for that again.... hopefully 😏

This information doesn't seem to be needed in other countries.

What other countries do is up to them, this is Thailand

Why? My OP. It's obviously not necessary information. It's simply another sub-variant basically the same as the last one and the one before that and the one before that and the one before that etc. that is to say non-severe for the vast majority.

Circular argument.

Overall I agree. The 30 Bht scheme lends to the abuse of services and over prescription of medications for mundane issues in a large percentage of cases.

Unfortunately the opposite occurs when many Thai are self aware of serious symptoms and avoid diagnosis out of fear until treatment comes too late.

Masks have never been not on sale. There must be warehouses full of them.

The global community awaits further insights as experts delve deeper into XFG's characteristics and potential implications.

For experts, just follow the money. The WHO will continue to push these scamdemics as it is how they want to gain control, along with the WEF. Yes, come on, bring on the foil cap comments.

Sadly H. there will always be the sheeple who will follow the rhetoric, and be on their 56th. vaccination......if they live that long.

Sounds to me like more doctors are trying to cash in I don't think Thailand will survive another total close down, I still have the video of me driving down the beach road in Phuket and there was nobody anywhere to be seen.

Of course here is the reason why ..,

"Health authorities remind the public to continue observing safety protocols, including vaccination, to minimise risk."

A comment typical of your posts. Ridiculous. The point is why does this article exist at all.

It's all so tiresome with the fake propaganda media.  Every time it floods or gets a little warm it's global climate catastrophe and now every year when the flu goes around it's COVID fear mongering. They've been doing the climate scam for 30 years with no signs up letting up so I expect the same for COVID now.

Thats it, im staying inside for the next year & getting some of those cool looking face nappys .. pathetic :coffee1:

It is good that they publish the info and let the public decide what to do with it. If they said nothing another group would be getting their knickers twisted about the secrecy.

Covid got me thinking about hygene and now carry sanitizer to spritz the hands when I feel like it.

I have noticed that hand washing after going to the toilet is now at pre-covid levels. I assume that those in fast food uniforms that do not have a hand cleaning procedure that thay have to do when they return to work.
