"Next the DOJ will say 'Actually, Jeffrey Epstein never even existed,'" furious pro-Trump conspiracy theorist Alex Jones tweeted after last week's move. "This is over the top sickening."

 

FBI deputy director Dan Bongino and Bondi reportedly clashed at the White House this week over the issue, with Bongino, a former influential right-wing podcast host, threatening to resign.

On Saturday, Trump struck an exasperated tone in his admonishment of his supporters.

 

"For years, it's Epstein, over and over again," he said. "Let's...not waste Time and Energy on Jeffrey Epstein, somebody that nobody cares about."

Thank you. I consider it quite an honor to defend decency and integrity, not that there ever was much of that with the office of the US presidency, but many of us feel that he's lowered that hurdle to historic lows.

The obsession  with  "conspiracies"  is tiresome and unproductive. In this case, team Trump are the source of their own problems. They pushed and promoted a conspiracy, when there was none, and now they have to come clean that there was no conspiracy.

 

The reality is that Epstein was just a more polished version of a conman finance promoter. He was an uneducated, crass, mathematical whizz kid, who thought he was smarter than he was. The reality is that his unethical activities were a reflection of the US financial markets, and that is what no one wants to admit to.  The Feds got Al Capone on tax evasion, and they got Epstein on  sex crimes. It did not mean that Al was any worse than many US citizens in respect to tax evasion, and it does not mean that Epstein was any worse than other US citizens in the matters of sexual pandering and pimping.

 

The Epstein affair is over. Time to move on. If people really care, then focus on ongoing activities. It is a certainty that similar activity continues today, perhaps more discreetly, but no one is talking about stopping it. Instead, they are fixated on a dead bad man.

I seems pretty clear from bongino & patels complete reversal that they have been spoken to, i think it also highlights that there is infact a 'deep State', something which the anti Trumpets also claim to be a maga conspiracy.
