What do you mean? What cap is that? Is this the BTS day pass?

I dont live in BKK. Maybe it isn't a cap. It was just what the article gave as max fare for a trip. I just gave it for comparison. Please see link.

Well if I get on the MRT in Nonthanburi and ride down to Asoke how much is it.

I never pay attention, I just swipe that blue card

No worries if you have a senior card it will still be cheap.

If you don't give it a year the program will go bust this is already commonly stated in news publications.

Foreigners don't get senior cards for the BTS.

Many still have it for the MRT, but afaik they don't issue new ones to foreigners.

BTW even with a senior card it's not exactly cheap,  compared to many other countries.

A refreshing, more neutral title to the topic compared to user Lorry's on "triple pricing"...

@Lorrywhat was your home-country again?

Whatever country it isn't discriminatory against foreigners regards public transport pricing. Another unique slogan   for what TAT use in their promotional junk 'Amazing Thailand'

Hard to believe but aint so

Some Euro countries have a real mess of

- The price

-The price for area residents

- The price for retired residents of the area

and some also have

- Special price for large families

I think you’re talking to the wrong person.

I’m just responding to what SOMEONE ELSE has posted.  My prerogative.

Do you need a loan for bus fare?

Are you still feeling “sick”?

Silly me.  I should of known my reply would attract the fan room dwellers.

Yeah baby!  Chicks dig it when someone show up hot, stinky and sweating like a pig,

Oh, I forgot most here are past the age of trying to look good for the ladies.  They’ve either given up or never had it in the first place.

This is not directed at you, Celsius.  Just a STATEMENT based on your statement.

Not necessarily.  You don’t have to be Brad Pitt.

Some slobs I have witnessed either never had it or gave it up when relocating to Thailand.

I’m talking basic pride in oneself.  Clean, somewhat pressed modern clothing.  Good hygiene, shaving, dental cleaning, combed hair etc

Keeping fit.  No big beer belly.

I swear I’ve never seen so many cases of bed head as I have in Thailand.  Yes, mostly older guys.  They just don’t care.  And it shows.

No wonder they get knocked back.

Don’t believe me .  Open your eyes.

Of course the slobs could care less.  They’ll give the thumbs down.

Forgive me but I forgot to mention in my previous post to you.

You seem to be concerned over substance vs looks.

While I have submitted my reply I failed to mention most males in Thailand that lack personal pride in their appearance also lack substance.  They normally go hard in hand.

Just wanted to clarify.

There is just no way they can make the 20 baht fare on the BTS work.  Yes, maybe on the the other lines, but not the privately operated BTS.  Far too expensive.  It doesn't matter how many times they announce it, it ain't going to happen!

You’ve had a lifetime of earning 20x (at least) than the average Thai.

I don't think I have ever earned 20 times what the average Bangkokian BTS rider makes.

TCM did not say average Bangkokian BTS rider.

Bank Of Thailand claimes average salary in 2024 was Bt.15,900/Month... X 20 = Bt.318,000/Month... I think TCM's claim is  a stretch for many.

The longest single journey (in one paid ticketing area) is 62 baht.

In the UK, at 60 years old if you live in London you get a 60+ Oyster card which gives you free bus, tube, trains on the TfL network. This is not available for tourists or non residents, they pay full price.

In the UK, if you are over 67 you get free bus travel nationally. Not available for tourists or non UK citizens. They pay full price.
