Extension number 4 today in Phuket, did my bank letter and 12 month bank statement yesterday afternoon with matching bank account balance.  Copies bankbook, PP, previous extensions, google map of resident coordinance etc. Unlike last year, the paperwork pre check fella said I needed to do a bank transaction today then update and get a copy of the last bankbook page transaction again, So I did a 200 baht DTAC top up on my SCB app. Anyway 40 minutes later all that done.  Also I had to update my address again at the drive thru, 7 days ago I went through there and updated it after returning from abroad.  The IO said that on his paper work I was staying at Bangkok Hospital Siriroj where- yes that's where I had Hernia surgery in March for god sakes....Are their Computor systems not working together ????? what a cluster f....... the IO ( salesman ) also offered a re entry permit service done at the same time as retirement extension but costing more than the other office, single entry 1500, multiple 4500 for convenience he says lol, told him I'm not going anywhere, and the pick up time now for Passport is tomorrow at 4pm not 1 pm as in the previous years. Anyway I'll get the passport Thursday morning 8:30am......ain't fighting 4pm traffic. Is it fair statement to say that the folks abiding by the 800k in their Thai banks every year as per Thai Law and paying 1,900 baht for a 1 year extension of stay are not particularly liked.........see you next year cheers !!!!!!

Applying for the LTR Visa - I hope to avoid all this khrapp and their ridiculous house visits/lectures and witnesses.

Lectures and witnesses? They have never visited us but can if they like. What do witnesses need to witness? What topics do the lectures cover? Just basic keep up with TM47s or something more sinister?

That's certainly normal practice at many offices eg CW.

Update bank book on day of application and also show activity.

Best option is small deposit.

Some folks just like to make something more than it is .. I’m on a marriage, I have done 2x firsts (I changed offices 2x), one visit where the officer attended alone and acted in a professional manner, the second two slobs turned up, they got a tip - don’t eat yellow snow, and left.

Since then every subsequent extension has been a formality, I hand in the papers, sit in silence, 30 mins later I get the approval stamp.

no lectures, no witnesses.

I’m also in Phuket and always do a TM30 before my retirement extension, even though I’ve owned and lived in my condo for nearly 10 years. Some years they want it, some years they give it back to me.

I keep 800,000 in a fixed deposit, and while they require an SCB bank statement and 12 month summary (along with a copy of my bank book), they’ve never asked for a same-day deposit for my fixed account.

I was also offered the re-entry permit “service” for a fee, but when I picked up my passport the next day, I just did it myself. It took about 30 minutes.

I assume the re entry permit service ( at a slightly higher cost ) at the same time as the extension was the fact that I had a 4pm passport pickup time the next day, a little rushed to go over to room 101 get the re entry started at 4:15 or so, closing time is 4:30. Anyway I skipped the next day altogether and went the following day morning and got the passport and re entry for the normal price. Yes the same day bank account transaction was the first for me, letter and 12 month statement was done 18-19 hours prior to going there.

no mention of the brilliant idea of only printing the Google Map, portrait format, not landscape, as everybody else does, to try to maximise the layout ...why in portrait view you ask?   well, have some consideration, will you people, he doesn't want it turn the paper 90 degrees when he has a bundle of papers, does he? have some consideration and think about the large workload of proccessing all these documents you instst on presenting!!
