A drunken unnamed, British man was left with injuries after launching a violent outburst at a bar off of Pattaya Second Road in the early hours of the morning.

The incident occurred at on 03:33 on 6 August, when the man, reportedly intoxicated, spotted his former partner, a female bar employee, tending to other customers. Overcome by jealousy, he began shouting and physically assaulting her in full view of other staff and patrons.

One American customer, seated nearby, was unable to stand by and watch. He stepped in to stop the attack and, in the scuffle that followed, forcefully threw the British man out of the bar, with him falling to the ground. The suspect hit the pavement hard, sustaining a broken arm, a gash to the eyebrow and facial bleeding.

Emergency services arrived shortly after and the injured man was taken to hospital for treatment. Police have stated they will conduct a full investigation once he is well enough to be interviewed and have pledged to ensure justice is served fairly for all parties involved.

The bar has so far declined to comment on the incident.

Nah. If you're protecting a woman from being beaten, you don't get a prison sentence. Especially a Thai woman being attacked by a farang. Who cares if she started it? You're not allowed

Lady started the fight, clearly visible in the video that she grabs him in the throat.

...and the American assaulted him and should be held fully responsible for his actions.

Interesting that the original news outlet and it's 'adaptation' went in the opposite direction to the truth...

The chap /bloke is a rookie at the Thai bar scene!

Despite their past relationship,

The hostess if invited to chat/have a drink with a customer is obligated to oblige ,thats how they earn a living. If a fella is consumed with inadequacies ,they should of never indulged

with a Bar hostess.

What is this rubbish @riclag? The video evidence shows him sitting down having a drink, with her threatening, pointing and hitting him. Do you have any evidence of him being the instigator?

Who cares if she started it? You're not allowed to hit a woman. That's the law of the jungle.

A Thai beer bar scene and we weren't there.

What if it's a guy wearing a dress?

Punching a woman in the face isn't how you stop her hitting you. Deflect then walk away. The American did what any man should do to protect a woman, especially if they aren't aware of anything besides what they're seeing, and from what we can see in this video alone. If that was a ladyboy it's a little different, as it's man against man then, but it does say female.

Then it would have been one of the ladyboy lovers here jumping in to help with a limp wrist slap

He just threw him aside, away from the confrontation. You do that in the US, you're not charged, especially after seeing the evidence. He wasn't trying to hurt the Brit but get him away from the problem. The Brit punched the lady in the face after being grabbed in the throat, which is a tad extreme. He should have done what he started to do, pushed her away then walked.

I'm not giving my opinion, not here to offend.

From what I see, Just another average Joe, normal behaviour from a foreigner here in Pattaya.

Nobody is entitled to hit anybody unless in self defence, that includes women.

Thai woman started it.

The Yank couldn't wait to be a hero. Probably seen too many movies starring "The Rock".

Looked like quite a drop off that step to fall face first.

My take on the topic is violence begets violence. I do not use violence to break up a fight. Man fighting a woman is no excuse for violence. That is my comment. Keyboard warriors justifying violence because a woman is involved are just violent themselves.

If I am talking, I'm not fighting. When I stop talking...

That's why they stop when I say stop.

Alcohol ... Alcohol ... Alcohol ... 🍺

Of course he should have just said, "OK, OK, calm down"

He definitely shouldn't have punched her.

  • Popular Post

Looks like the American barely touched him.

A tug on the arm that assisted the effects of alcohol and gravity.

Never threw a punch as far as I can see, didn't continue after the guy was down.

As far as the Brit's reaction to the woman, he was hauling off with some pretty strong punches.

Winding up like he was going for a knock out.

If the Brit has any self respect he will just drop the matter.

Yes of course, thuggery to the highest level...

What he did wasn't thuggery. He simply tossed the Brit aside to stop the confrontation, saving the woman from more possible damage. I would have done the same thing and have a few times. And have witnessed it many times also, going to and working with clubs. No excuse to punch a woman unless she's in the act of hurting a child, and even then it's still easier to just deflect . A man walks away. This is a bar girl and even less of a reason for him to fight over her. It's not his woman but just his turn. The Brit landing like he did wasn't intentional as we can see. he just pulled him away and threw him to the ground.

Wonder how this discussion would be going if it had been an evil American punching  a 50 kilo Thai woman and the White Knight was a Brit?

Obviously we seldom hear about bad behavior by Brits being posted on this forum.

But those bloody Yanks...
