I am sure we are all happy for you....................:intheclub:

Inflation is going to be 4.5/4.6% in September?

I doubt it.

Which will drag even more State Pensioners above tax thresholds.

Which is not kinda nice.

I was hoping that after a full year under Labour, the figure would have been about 10%, heading North for every year Labour was in Government.

Ignoring the triple lock, I thought the % rise was determined by the inflation figure for September?

Government Pensions.

State Pension is Septembers CPI rate or average wage growth, whichever is larger.

...except for expats in Thailand on frozen pensions, though.☹️

The state pension increase in April 2026 will be determined by the government's triple lock policy, which uses the highest figure from the following three options: the average earnings increase (between May and July), September's Consumer Price Index (CPI) inflation, or 2.5%.

Current estimate for April 2026 is indeed 4.6% currently.

Takes new state pension up to £240.84 per week. That's an impressive 34% increase in the past 5 years.

Hi,  agreed.
The post was in  "UK & Europe Topics and Events".
Its not something I want to see to remind me of the discriminatory Uk policies.

However , something i found out on my last trip to UK.
Report when you are back in UK to get some extra pension.
They gave me an extra one off payment of about 90 GBP for the two weeks.
Still it would not take the total pension to any where enough to live on compared to an immigrant subsidised by the taxpayers. Glad I am not there now paying for it.

As Abe Lincoln stated "you can make some of the people happy, but cannot make all the people happy all of the time"or words to effect

But its all relative to who is effected, you ?perhaps, but my mate Joe who indeed worked for DWP  stated, there is no need to go frozen, its only you that encouraged ppl to join you in the frozen pit, more the merrier.

Listen in to "Happiness"  recording Ken Dodd, will make you happy  lol

My pension only went up 2.1%.

Which country are you in/from?

The expected rise is down to wage growth estimates which are currently around that level.

Yes by all means report that you are back in UK,can only speculate that they want to be more informed of your return from UK,gives em something to do,its just bloody mindless why anyone is in this position is nothing short of pathetic      there is nothing they DWP or ipc can do to stop anyone receiving unfrozen in Thailand, nothing.  No laws criminal or civil have been enacted to prosecute ,DWP will not inform of this ,only A1 comes anywhere close.

Nutcase on these threads keeps up running dialogue of 'folk' being done could be described as ,invidious /covetous ,could also say suffering Othello syndrome/morbid and obsessive jealousy traits also not a good condition to be in,makes life hell for itself
