It most certainly does. The right to  be in public space, the right to beg, is all protected and has been established in multiple cases.  This is basic 1st Amendment protected activity. Although the  SCOTUS in June 2024 ruling allowed cities to restrict homeless camps, the provisions protecting the homeless from discrimination under the 8th Amendment still remain. There are still appeals underway on that basis.

One’s rights do not supersede another’s.

One has the right to use the sidewalk. One does not have the right to interfere with others using the sidewalk.

BS. The Constitution does not give people the right to use public property any way they like.

So you think it they should be allowed to sleep on the sidewalk, because you may have to pay something to help them, is that correct?

We are already paying for their care.

The right for the unhoused and others to be present in public is  protected by the 1st Amendment.

The right to set up a camp on the sidewalk, has been restricted, but anyone is allowed to sit or stand in the public area. They cannot be banned.

You are not already paying for their care. If you are a taxpayer, it is unlikely that you are even covering the cost of goods and services that you personally receive, so please don't pull the "I'm a tax payer" routine. The tax burden is carried by the top 20% of personal income tax payers. And unless you are a resident of a specific area, it is unlikely you are contribute anything because municipalities and counties  pick up much of the burden of homeless and mentally ill targeted social services in the USA.

You have the right to do whatever you want to express yourself in a public place, you have no constitutional right to sleep and sh*t in front of the public library.

So I was correct, in that the Constitution does not give people the right to camp out on the sidewalk. Neither does it give people the right to harass other people.

You said specifically that you did not want to pay to help them. My response was that we are already paying for them. I meant we as a society, and made no claim that there was a cost to me personally, but of course there is.

It is amusing that when it’s something the left wants, price is no object, but when it’s something they are against, all of a sudden, they are concerned about the cost.

What's amusing is this stuff Faux News implants into your easily influenced brains on a daily basis because of a lack of critical thinking skills.

You are just a typical lying leftist that is unable to put together a coherent response, so you just regurgitate the same idiocy over and over.

While I have seen clips from time to time, I do not now, nor have I ever watched Fox news.

And? You have a problem with preparation for all eventualities? You wear seatbelts? Carry a pocket knife? Have a bug out bag?

Maybe while Im here in the USA Im gonna run some drills. Focus more on the 200 meter shots since Im using an M4.

Tell us why thats "idiotic". Are generations of male humans "idiotic" because they do weapons training? Is one not entitled to look at societal conditions and make their own judgement how best to protect themselves and their families?

Or do you prefer serfdom? Do what we tell you peasant?

Clearly, you are a  European

Ok Justin.

You can shoot 200 meters, can you run that far?

Wow, you are so manly, you have a gun!

Who will you be shooting at?

Acutally 600-1000 but I dont have the equipment any more.

Thank you, but in America thats not how we measure manliness. Perhaps confront your own insecurities would be in order.

Whoever requires it..or no one. I havent needed a tire iron in 35 years either.

You measure manliness by how many Big Macs you can eat right?

It’s more they are reacting to something stupid destructive and feckless trump does.certainly not something trump does that’s smart constructive unifying uplifting or promotes democracy alliances and rule of law (he does try to create the illusion of rule of law as he betrays the constitution)

The ideas and philosophies from "Pommy right wingers" are why we are here arguing virtually instead of living in an Hobbesian nightmare.

They are a bunch of mumbling pirates but they invented it all. We then perfected it and you bogans get to enjoy it.

It wasn’t a comment, it was a question, one that you are apparently unable to answer.

I’ve lost several jobs and I have lived on the street. I have lived in houses, apartments, hotels, railroad cars, semi-trailers, trucks, cars and a camper. I lived in a cardboard refrigerator box for a few days. I’ve sold plasma and eaten at the Salvation Army.

But no, I have never been evicted, because I never stayed anyplace I could not afford.

Have you been evicted?

Worked in construction most of my life where it was feast or famine.  Saved money during good times to carry me through hard times.  Luckily I always qualified for unemployment compensation.  Bought my first home at age 25, so was never homeless.

Today, life is more complex and ridiculously expensive.

And fast food jobs are paying $42k a year to start, with medical and 401k matching.

The majority of homeless people are there because they are drug addicts. And while there are people that are just down on their luck, there are some pretty decent programs in place to help them.

Giving them $600 a month, letting them sleep on the sidewalk,  giving them clean needles, and spending 90% of public safety budget on Narcon and emergency services to save them when they OD is not helping them.

First, your claim they have nothing is just not true.

Second, what would that have to do with anything?

Of they had “nothing”, and were raping women, could nothing be done about it?

it’s a pedestrian walkway. People loitering on it are infringing on the rights of others.

You stated this with respect to the homeless.

"First, your claim they have nothing is just not true."

Could you please elaborate?

I thought that was why they were homeless.

It is a measurement of how good a country takes care of its citizens! Very few homeless choose to be homeless... No surprise at all there are so many homeless in america!
It is obviously clear that Trump only cares about rich people 🤮

To start, do they not typically have a mountain of cr*p piled up wherever they are staying?

What did twelve years Biden and Obama do about the homeless?

At least Trump is trying to do something about it.

You stated: “It is a measurement of how good a country takes care of its citizens.”. So do you support deporting noncitizens that are in the country illegally, that negatively affect the poorest citizens?

Allowing people to live in squalor while bragging about clean needles and the crumbs you throw them is not “taking care” of them.
