There are lots of people who have passed or are coming up to 60 years old that will have very good "final salary" pensions maturing. Many will be over the threshold, even more so when their state pension kicks in.

All eligible pensioners get it but those with an income in excess £35k have it clawed back through PAYE or Self Assessment, though you can opt out of being paid it.

Thought it was only getting paid to those claiming benefits over and above the state pension.
