Police have arrested a man who spent 12 years evading capture after allegedly attempting to murder a rival in Sukhothai, only to be found working as a cook in Pattaya.

The Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) confirmed that Mr Thitiwut, wanted under an arrest warrant issued by Sawankhalok Provincial Court in March 2013, was detained on 16 August in a market area behind a shopping centre in Pattaya. He had been listed as number 132 on the Royal Thai Police’s 2025 most-wanted bulletin.

The original charges include attempted murder, illegal possession of firearms and ammunition and carrying a weapon in public without authorisation.

According to police, the case dates back to 2013 when the suspect, then 24, was drinking with friends when he spotted a rival driving past. He allegedly opened fire before fleeing the scene and managing to avoid arrest for more than a decade.

Acting on intelligence, officers tracked him to Pattaya, where he had taken up work as a cook. When approached, he initially denied his identity, claimed to be someone else and could not present identification. After questioning and further verification, he eventually admitted he was the subject of the outstanding warrant.

Mr Thitiwut was taken into custody, informed of his rights and transferred to Pattaya City Police Station before being handed over to investigators in Thung Saliam, Sukhothai, for legal proceedings.

I hope that list isn't in order of severity.

Shooting at and missing a bloke that drives past you while you're drinking in 2013 doesn't seem that severe in the land of rape&psycho-violence.

Thai all day long. He had plastic surgery to hide his identity. Also living and working in Pattaya, Thais' appearance begin to change to become somewhat farang-like.
