This marks the largest budget ever allocated for a foreign film production in Thailand. The filming of 'Alien: Earth' has not only highlighted Thailand's stunning landscapes but also made a significant impact on the local economy, creating a total of 24,787 jobs. Within the film industry, 13,942 positions were filled, ranging from extras to technical roles like lighting and sound. Additionally, 10,845 jobs were created in supporting sectors such as car rentals, hotels, and catering services. The success of this project demonstrates Thailand’s capability as a film production powerhouse. The country offers a unique blend of diverse locations, skilled professionals, and state-of-the-art studios, positioning itself as an attractive destination for international filmmakers. The government is seizing this opportunity to promote tourism. Visitors are invited to explore the breathtaking locations featured in the series, potentially boosting local businesses and encouraging future investments in tourism and film. This strategic promotion aligns with Thailand's ambition to leverage its rich cultural and natural assets to draw more global projects and visitors. By fostering an environment conducive to film production, the country aims to further solidify its standing as a premier hub for international cinema. While the focus is currently on the cinematic allure, the broader impact of such productions goes deeper. They provide a platform for local talent, offer invaluable experience to Thai professionals, and contribute significantly to the economy. The production of 'Alien: Earth' is a testament to the country's ability to host large-scale international ventures effectively. This initiative encapsulates a broader vision where tourism and entertainment intersect, bringing together culture, innovation, and economic development. By opening its doors to global producers, Thailand is making a compelling case as a destination where storytelling and reality beautifully converge. Thailand's starring role in 'Alien: Earth' is a harbinger of what’s possible when a country combines its natural splendour with professional acumen. As visitors flock to explore the locations that captivated audiences worldwide, Thailand not only entertains but also educates the world about its rich offerings. With such initiatives, the country is redefining its place on the global cinematic map, promising more captivating stories to come. Adapted by ASEAN Now from Bangkok Post 2025-08-18
August 18, 2025Aug 18 Not much of Thailand in the first two episodes. It's set in 2120 and it looks like CRT's are coming back, not LCD /LED displays. 🙄 Some of the tech used is strange ,more like the show was made in 1990. Lets see if Thailand is going to shine on "Global Stage" for this. TAT must be salivating.
August 19, 2025Aug 19 Popular Post They should just set up the cameras at Chiang Mai immigration, then you can witness "Alien Earth" in the making!
August 19, 2025Aug 19 Good idea. People will flock at the airports to get a ticket to the Paradise. Millions will enter the (craptrap)=amazing kingdom
August 19, 2025Aug 19 From what I seen in first two episodes it was literally 10 seconds of landscape scenery and even then I thought it could have been in Vietnam near halong bay.

That's beacause the original movies originate from the 80's and 90's, and they want it to have a similar look. The same is done in new Star Wars series.
August 19, 2025Aug 19 As a fan of the Alien franchise I was surprised to hear on my trip to Krabi last November while on a day trip with Five Star Marine, the Captain took us to a Lagoon and informed me that a film crew did a shoot at that location and explained that it was an Alien production. Not knowing about Alien Earth at the time I found it quite revealing. Here is the video that include the location of the shoot, you would never know they were there, the place was left in pristine condition. https://youtu.be/Wx1OxLgvOcY

And Alien has always been retro-futuristic. The show is already a huge success, so yes, it's letting Thailand shine on the global stage.
August 19, 2025Aug 19 So when will Thailand actually make world-class films instead of making PR from the work of others? It isn't that they don't have the technical skill.
