Road Rage (Foreigner Style)

I just don't like when some are always on the foreigners case when the majority of what goes on here with accidents and all other crime involves locals. Yes, their numbers are much higher, but even per capita the foreigners that live here aren't the troublemaker. Tourists are a different matter.

You should come to the canal road approaching my daughters school, motorcycles fly down the center dividing line between oncoming traffic in opposing lanes. The 30 meter solid lines before junctions doesn't even stop them, they barely miss the mirrors of cars flying by in both directions. Other than driving the wrong way down a roadway, this suicide passing maneuver explains all you need to know about motorcycle deaths numbers here.

Yeah, I agree. The man is an idiot and hopefully he'll get a slap one day, but it's hardly a matter for the police. Forget it, move on. And generally don't beep at people, it can be very dangerou

@lordgrinz still desperately trying to justify his behaviour by blaming the other driver, but let's make it clear, the STOP sign is for him. Not only that, but he actually sped up on reaching the red car, rather than slowing down. @fredwiggy claims to look at the evidence but seems completely blind to it in reality.

He could have just let him through...but he wanted to assert himself and made fools out of all of them.

I see crap here every day I'm out driving that would get many put in jail , fined, loss of license, impounded vehicles, etc. Every day. I've been a driver all my life, putting on more miles than most of the population yearly, and have driven in almost all the states, and a few countries, and have never seen such insanity on roads until I moved here. Until they enforce what goes on, people will die every day in the same numbers. There has to be a care for your citizens to have things happen,, and that doesn't happen here.

@fredwiggy Please link to the five people that have agreed with @lordgrinz version of events. The first posters were only commenting on the other drivers subsequent behaviour. But pretty much everyone agrees that @lordgrinz precipitated the event with his aggressive driving actions.

Cut me off, then after beeping at him, he does it again. Then proceeds to block me and my daughter from going home after picking her up from school, then gets out and threatens us, and takes a few punches at my window, this one might get reported to my local police station tomorrow, still deciding.

Sound would be a plus but he looks a bit of a drama queen wanting a problem. Due to the his penchant for confrontation and obscene gesticulation  while your daughter is in the car, I'd definitely report it.

I see what everyone sees. I blame the red car's driver for exacerbating the situation and making it a possible accident because of arrogance. People assert themselves all day, every day, in every country, especially if they have the right of way. Yes, anyone can let anyone just go, but if the police were looking at this, they would arrest the red car's driver and see Lordgrinz's actions as normal.

@fredwiggy Can you see the STOP sign? Who has the right of way? People coming from the left.

@lordgrinz was discourteous, whether or not he had the 'right of way'. Why not send your new friend to the police station with his video, to see what happens?

Watched a Russian youtube channel showing them doing their road rage routine, but was interesting how no matter how big they were, after getting hit in the face  with Pepper Spray they waddled off with their tails between their legs....LOL

I brought some canisters of  "Fox Five Point Three" with me from the U.S. This is the Pepper Spray the the police use in the U.S. It is nasty stuff and will incapacitate someone immediately. I always carry this in my side pocket of my driver's door, ready to use in Thailand.

Read all the replies instead of just mine, as you've done this before in other posts, coming after me because you didn't agree with something i said. I didn't say Lordgrinz couldn't have let the other driver just go. I'm concentrating on what happened, and the actions after by the other driver. I think you need to read more of his statements as again, you weren't there and might be missing a thing or two.

@fredwiggy YOu made the statement, so you should post the proof of the five people. I said there isn't, so how would I be able to find them? You show me, please. Or just admit that you were wrong. I think that is something neither you nor @lordgrinz is capable of doing.

It's just you and him...haven't you noticed?

The red car stopped to wait for the pedestrians, which allows those going straight to continue on, as you need to wait until the pedestrians finish their crossing before you move at all. The pedestrians have the right of way, then whoever is going straight. People making turns into a straight road need to wait until the others pass by, especially when they're that close and were supposed to be sitting waiting for the people to cross before moving.

I was looking for something like this, for just in case scenarios, but I think it's illegal here. The other issue is, will it explode in a car sitting in the sun?

No, 4 others saw the other driver as being wrong. Like i said, read all comments before you skim and nitpick mine. Read and understand what I've said before thinking I'm wrong. Also, look at your thumbs down, which means they don't agree with what you've been saying. Again, the majority doesn't rule, and the red car's driver was definitely doing something that would get him fined or his ass kicked by some others.

I once showed my Fox canister to a Thai policeman and asked him if I could own this in Thailand. His reply was Mai Phen Rai. So I do not worry about it. I have had several canisters of Fox in my car and home over the twenty years I have been in Thailand without any leakage.

New friend? That I agree with him isn't because we know each other. I've seen his posts before, and they make sense, especially about what he sees going on here. You can call him whatever you want, but the other driver was way wrong in his actions.

It might be like everything else here, where you only have to worry about punishment after you use it, then they throw the law book at you. The RTP don't actively enforce laws here, but when you screw up, they use those laws against you, there is no grey area at that point.

Life is not always about being right or wrong - it’s often about common sense. And that’s exactly what the OP failed to show in this incident. Let this case be a warning to him: next time, it might not end with just an argument, but with a hospital visit - or worse. And then, will the fact that he was ‘right’ really matter?

Not getting out of the car to engage a road rager, but that guy would of ended up getting choked out pretty fast, if he keeps it up someone is going to end his little roid rage episodes. Like I said earlier, there is a gym right there, I bet he was coming from there, and feeling invincible. He should probably not visit the US though, that crap can get you shot, and probably would've.

@fredwiggy It didn't look like the other driver was afraid of getting his arse kicked. People like yourself like to talk tough, but you are just an old man and should understand your limitations before you try shooting from the hip.

Do you deny that @lordgrinz deliberately sped up? It's one thing just carrying on through, but he actually sped up so as to be first, even though he knew the driver in the red car was waiting.

People like yourself will always be unhappy in Thailand. You haven't learned to go with the flow.

However many you think agreed with @lordgrinz and yourself, it's still a LESSER number than the people who think that he precipitated the whole thing.

@lordgrinz...now a keyboard warrior talking about people getting choked out, whilst in reality he sat cowering in his car.

Ironic that he writes such a thing, after berating me for saying that something similar might happen to him if he continues to behave in such a manner. Now here he is, preaching violence. Just stop it and move on.

I said the other driver did something that would get him fined or his ass kicked. That's true. I have no need to talk tough. Never underestimate an "old man" and what they can do, especially if they've been working out for 50 years and have a few women treat them wrong.

Again, I didn't say the OP couldn't have let him go. What happened happens countless times every day, but what the other driver did is push the situation instead of just allowing the OP to pass. Using your vehicle as a weapon can get you killed, especially if you step out and act aggressive. I've seen it happen quite a few times. Minor traffic situations turning into crimes.

People like myself? I told you why I'm unhappy here, and the main reason I'm leaving isn't just because i and my hobbies and desires don't fit here, but I want a better life for my daughter, and that won't happen here. I've been here over 7 years, and get along with everyone, and treat them well. I wasn't treated well by a woman I trusted, and that's the mistake I made. The only reason I'm still here is my daughter, and waiting for the right time to move.

And again, it doesn't matter who agrees with this situation. The red car's driver made it worse than it should have been. People are in a hurry all over every day, and you let them go. Accidents happen every day because people get pissed off to easily.

I deal with situations like this almost daily here in Isaan — and often much worse. Honestly, I doubt I’d still be alive if I honked every time someone pulled out from a side road without looking. Instead, I’ve learned to be extra cautious whenever I see traffic coming from a secondary road. It’s not my job to teach people here how to drive properly, and it would be foolish to assume that role. My only concern is getting to my destination safely. If that means adapting to drivers who don’t follow the rules — so be it.

He is supposed to stay in that left lane. The road he is coming out of has two left turning lanes, the left lane for turning into the left lane, the right lane for turning left or right, meaning you can turn into the second lane only from that right lane. You can't change lanes while rounding the corner.

He didn't cut you off, was there before you. first aggressive act was from you (beeping), then he acted like an idiot.

@fredwiggy Who is going to kick his arse? You? @lordgrinz? @lordgrinz is the one more likely to get his arse kicked if he continues to behave in that fashion. Pushing through and hitting his horn multiple times. The other driver merely reacted to his bad attitude and indicated that @lordgrinz might be lacking something in his trousers. Totally unacceptable behaviour. But what can you expect with two monkeys?

What is this 💩 "Never underestimate an "old man" and what they can do, especially if they've been working out for 50 years and have a few women treat them wrong." Are you mentally ill?

Moving on from that weirdness...you are accusing the other driver of doing exactly what @lordgrinz did...not allowing the other driver to proceed safely. You don't seem to realise that you regularly contradict yourself.

Saying that it doesn't matter who agrees with the situation....clearly it does. It means that YOUR opinion is as useless as you regard anyone else's.

The fact is that more people think @lordgrinz is at fault. There's a reason for that...one that you are incapable of understanding.

I don't know what JakeC is talking about, I am 56 and this guy was probably 60? He's just getting animated because I won't exit the car, especially with my 9 yr old inside, plus he couldn't see me until he got to the drivers window, my windows are dark tint, the louder and more animated they are though, the harder they fall. I know a blowhard when I see one, he's just used to picking on smaller people (maybe even his wife), he must feel like a God in Thailand bullying smaller men.

Beeping is to inform the other driver that they are about to hit you, a normal person would notice then correct before they collide, not turn into a psychopath.

You were about to hit him while trying to push through.

Does anyone else feel as amazed as I do by looking at so far five pages of bitching?!

- Mr Mazda didn't next to nothing wrong at the start. At least nothing woth being confronted/chastized for.

- Grinz appears to want to make a point of criticising Mr Mazda, which was unnecessary, especially considering his daughter was in the car with him.

- Mr Mazda loses his sh*t and makes a fool of himself.

- AN members go on and on and on at each other in attempts to be 'proven correct.'

Jeez, since this thread was started, innocent road users and passengers will have died on Thai roads as a result of much worse driving than these two.
