Ban guns before you start praying

Featured Replies

I have read"it is my right to own a gun" or stuff like that.

Yes it is your right but should you be proud of it?

Is it not a child's right to go to school and be safe there?

I just can't help but notice one persistent fact in each and every lethal shootings.

It does not matter if the shooter is MAGA or extreme left oriented.

The thing is all shooters use guns!

  • While the term "mass shooting" has various definitions, the Anti-Defamation League (ADL) tracks murders committed by extremists. In 2023, all 17 extremist-related killings were committed by right-wing

For God's sake Americans, just ban guns.

The founding fathers purposely made amending the American Constitution notoriously difficult. And to date, none of the original bill of rights have been abolished or amended.

The Constitution is not that difficult to amend. It should be noted that the Bill of Rights are amendments.

I would agree......there is no chance of any signifiant changes to the idea of gun ownership....that ship has sailed.

There might be some chipping away at the edges.....maybe ban trans people and communists?

The only hope going forward would be education of the dangers (probably encounter quite some resistance to that) or at least safety aspects of gun ownership......both taught from a young age.

All in all...it does not look good for the US.

I don't agree with guns for the public but that is bye the way. Make owning a gun far tougher. From what I see on the news and internet, getting a gun in some states of the USA is easy.

I thought amendments to either were governed by the same article?

You only have to look at Japan by way of comparison......what they achieved re gun control/gun deaths is remarkable.

BUT.....there was a political and societal will to change.

People murdered in Chicago in:

2015:  468

2016: 762

2017: 650

2018: 561

2019: 492

2020: 774

2021: 779

2022: 600

2023: 632

2024: 573

2025: 262 (with 3 months to go to the end of the year)

About 6,553 people murdered in Chicago alone.  Not counting D.C., Baltimore, Oakland, New Orleans, etc.

I would say, that number of murders is pretty extremist, wouldn't you?

Yes, people have been killed in Chicago. No one is denying that. What has it to do with the subject of my post?

It was just putting into contexed the idiocy of the charts you posted.

Was that not clear?

Blah blah again. Feel free to post sourced data that contradicts the three sources I linked.

I'm not holding my breath! 🤣

The gun used in the Kirk murder was the type that virtually all politicians use to say "we would never ban THIS kind of gun". It was a bolt action hunting rifle with a short magazine. The kind used in the fewest crimes and deaths associated with firearms.  Probably available in hardware stores in some states.

But anyway, banning guns is a non starter. And IF guns began to be banned, this one would be the last on the list.

I don't remember you posting any link about violence by extremist. Was it under Mogandave ID?

I never said I posted a link in regard to your ridiculous charts, did I?

That was my question. I never asked if you posted unrelated data! 🙂

What did you post exactly?

Why not just go back and check?🙂🙂

That you are unable to put an actual response together, does not mean I “have nothing”, it means you are intellectually lazy, at best.

Same reply as yesterday. If you can post data (with link, per forum rules) contradicting what's shown in the three links I have posted, feel free to do it.

I'm still not holding my breath!

All you can do is paste pictures of “data” that you do not seem to understand, and that do not support your false claim that most political violence comes from the right.

I believe you have made that claim, and per the forum rules, you should support it.

Anyway, your still have nothing.

You don't think that murdering people is an extremist act?

Or is it, you are just perpetuating the act of denigration and degradation of people you hate?  i.e. people that don't think and/or act like you?

A murders is a person that commits an unjustified homicide.  As did robinson when he killed Charlie Kirk.

The data I showed was not about common criminal behaviour, such as bank robbing, gang fight, etc...

Or are you claiming that the murder numbers you showed were committed by political extremists?

I am writing that any one that goes and commits an unjustified homicide, has committed and extreme act of hate.   Are you claiming that someone that does that is not an extremist?

Again, that's unrelated to the type of data I posted.

If you want to post data related to the ones I posted  feel free to do so. Otherwise, stop wasting my time.
