Honking your horn at a Thai who cuts you off.

There is not any logic in your honking either.

You said he cut your way? So why honking? Do you think he would reverse his car/motorbike???🤣

Thais and others need to stop reading Facebook/TikTok or just talking on the phone and drive the car/truck safely and things mentioned here would not happen so often.

So you're a coward and let people walk over you.   I'd rather live like a lion and be killed, than live like a mouse, like you obviously do.

That's no answer to my question.

Too many losers are unleashed. Just be careful.

When I  ride my  ADV50 on the highway, I do not ride on the motorcycle lane, I take my lane and watch like a hawk when they pass, but more times then not if i pass they speed up even is a Sonic lol.

They just don't like being past by a scooter, even a big one

In consideration of this observation, I give two beeps as a friendly warning that the action was dangerous. I do not lay on the horn in a log angry blast as .... it is more likely to be translated as a challenge wanting immediate attention.

We live in a tolerant society, and perhaps we could blend in more, rather than beep our bloody horn.

If you haven't worked it out yet, Thais rarely hit the honker and it's delightful compared to some other countries.

Think of it this way, maybe the driver was late for something important (that's when I'll take liberties) and it's one extra car ahead of you. Not even worth the decibels, let alone slight risk of escalation.

In the 18 years I’ve been riding bikes and driving cars in Thailand I have honked the horn twice, just one short sound and that was to alert another driver that maybe it was time to wake up so they could avoid a collision. When someone cuts me off, I just make room for it. No sweat, Almost always I’ll se that vehicle at the next red light.

What was the purpose of "honking" the horn after being cut off ?

I think the horn is to prevent accidents and perhaps as an example, if you see a person about to step onto the road in front of your vehicle, then honk so they become aware of you ? Or perhaps they may be reversing towards you where they may not have a clear view of the distance between vehicles, then "honk".

Rule nr 1 , never honk if not in desperate situations ! Machetes , Pistols n Knifes could surprise you of how serious Thais take honking 😂😂😂😂

My Thai wife often criticizes  me for not honking the horn..I tell her I'm  using my (minimal) brain power to avoid the dangerous situation instead of honking

(100%  CPU dedicated to avoiding danger)

In some cases were there is not so much danger I will honk.

I used too but not anymore, only time I use it is if they are drifting in a lane and I have no where to go.

Personally I think the OP should honk aggressively at every single Thai, and also show the finger.

Ha ha  yeah you really want him dead ?

I do not "beep" as a friendly warning.

Why didn’t you flip a big red pulsating middle one while you were at it? It would have most certainly have made the morning a bit more exciting.

That’s why you should take it easy on the road and not be so bothered and giving yield to the nincompoops.

Nincompoop, what a lovely, descriptive word. Must ask Susie Dent for it's origin. Cheers.

I honk at big trucks who are in the right hand lane. My Mrs says NO, they will catch you

u and kill you.

In UK, it was Little Bubble Car !

Sure it is, just read between the lines of my comment. My comment for ALL is a suggestion not to answer something about people's thoughts and actions.
