Go Wholesale on Sukhumvit, next to Big C Pattaya Tai,There’s  a Powerbuy and Office Mate next to it.

They sell a pretty good selecton of beef at good prices both fresh and frozen,  plus a bunch of other stuff.

I guess it almost like Makro but I am not sure...

I have not been there yet....

https://centralfoodwholesale.co.th/en/#

They have a app to download too.....You can see their prices on the app....

There’s one in cm, go there for a couple of things probably twice a year, personally think Makro is better overall.

I went there once, many items more expensive than Makro so what's the point going, these retailers are very lazy to compete on price

Went there once shortly after it opened, and didn't like it.

Went there again about 1 month ago, and got reminded that I didn't like it first time, so will not be back.

I wonder how that Central group made their billions, because most of their stores are usually depleted of customers.

ThaiWatsadu, Homeworks and it's reincarnation, and powerbuy are always empty.

Never again. My trolley was checked twice before leaving the store and once by a security man in the car park. Then, another security man came to help me unload my purchases into the vehicle. I suspect it was to have another sneaky check. Maybe it was because I'd bought four bottles of whisky, I dunno, but it was the first time anyone had ever helped me unload my shopping. I'll continue to use Macro in future.

Good question, I've wondered the same about Central.  What are we missing? Anybody have a possible answer?

Went several times until three times in a row the chicken we bought was so rank I wouldn’t feed it to a soi dog. It’s been back to Makro ever since.

Yeah, what is this all about really? I mean checking a trolley chock full of stuff against a 1m long list immediately after passing through the check out and then giving a stamp of approval and right of passage. Just why?

It's garbage.

In Bangkok this used to be the short lived and overpriced Tops Club which did have some unique stuff available. After they were unable to sell the overpriced Kirkland stuff to Thais, they replaced it with this garbage.

I wonder what happened to all 1000 baht tops club memberships?

BTW, their pizza was pretty good and they would also have some amazing cakes on special. They had beef salad which was amazing. Really really good beef

How far is it from where you live?

Maybe best to just go to the place nearest to you, even if it's a bit more expensive.

The more you travel all around the city to 15 different supermarkets to save a few baht, the more chance of having an accident on the roads.

Go Wholesale opened a store in Udon Thani early this year. Initially, had many good offers, but most common items were same as or slightly higher than Makro. Sometimes veg quality is bad (especially potatoes). Not much in white goods etc, like in Makro..

Good points - super large car park (in Udon) and closer than Makro for me, Very clean inside, staff friendly, They have very good selection of live seafood, and lots of beef choices. Frozen food sometimes cheaper than Makro (e.g. mixed veg, strawberries). Main good point - Some bakery, dairy and other perishables  near expiry are cut to half price after midday - sometimes even higher discounts. Makro rarely have discounted products. Oh, and sometimes they give free products or a discount if you buy more than a certain amount in total.

They  sell MIngo ice cream next to checkouts in Udon - they have mango flavour ice cream, very nice, 35 baht for a medium sized tub; i saw same in Lotus at 55 baht.....

They opened one in Chiang Mai a while ago. Went and yes it did remind of Makro but I didn't like it all that much. Low on quality expat food. Still Rimping and Tops fo rme.

Prolly BTC .....

They have some good items and it's a nice alternative to Makro

They have opened a branch near me in Phuket right next door to Makro.

Not much of a difference between both in either products or pricing.

The fully covered car parking is a plus for me in favour of GO Wholesale.

Makro is CP Group like Big C Extra, Lotus's and 7/11 to start with.

GoWholesale is the competing Central Group with their department stores all over Thailand.

In Udon Thani, GoWholesale is a real alternative, easier in access yet price wise they all cook with water - no big difference = win som, lose some!

Go has great selection of AUSSIE beef 20& less the makro.

they also accept most international credit cards

DO NOT go for "fresh" chicken, first smell it, and if you don't vomit, continue your shopping for other items.

On the other hand, one of the VERY FEW places that sell "live" fish, I mean swimming around, and they cut it up to your liking, and prices are low.

I have been to the one in Pattaya a number of times and like it as the aisles are wide and it seems clean inside.  I just buy packaged items and have not bought meat, chicken, etc.  Never seems too crowded and they have various specials.  I bought some 2 for 1 brownies that were 45 Baht a package and when checking out the cashier said wait and she went to check the prices.  When she returned I noticed all the packages had 320 Baht printed on them by mistake which is the price for  large box brownies.  If she had not checked I probably would have just paid and then discovered later in the day.  Was nice of her to notice the incorrect price and correct at the time of checkout.  I should pay more attention to what is on packages compared to what is shown on the price cards.

Seems less chaotic than Makro.  I have only had my receipt checked when leaving the store like Makro does.  I typically do not make a large volume of purchases.

if the Scuba man say "No" - Then that's good enough for me .....

It has the style of a wholesale outlet like Makro, but has fewer 'wholesale' bulk packs and the prices are the same as a Tops.

So while I liked the wide aisles and clean/bright appearance, it's not really an alternative to Makro or a real market.

@piston broke I would state exactly the opposite. In fact I went there and bought meat and other items that were cheaper and better than at Makro. Your man just makes things up to suit his mood a fair bit of the time.

I've bought chicken from Makro that wasn't good the next day and chicken from Go that was cheap and good. So you can get bad meat from either shop on a 'bad' day. Buyer beware.

I went to Go Wholesale today for the first time....

I thought it was fantastic....Much better than Makro...

I do not get why anyone could poo poo Go Wholesale?

Go Wholesale is big...Very big....With a good selection

of every thing...

And Everything seems a bit cheaper than Makro...The ground beef is for sure cheaper at 240 a kilo....Hell I even bought a modest ok chunk of cheddar cheese for only 100 baht............At Makro cheese is too expensive...

I give Go Wholesale 2 thumbs up........How can anyone not give Go Wholesale 2 thumbs up?
