  • Be careful what you wish for. Plenty of worse options out there for the fascists to play with.

  • +1. These pigs have been feeding at the trough for over 20 years now.  When the corruption becomes too obvious and the leader gets sacked or deposed in some way, another relative or nominee

You think that all Thais from 8 to 80 don't know this? Have always known this. Say what you want about the T man he did throw scraps to his followers which is MORE than any other party or ruling green group ever did. Frankly I am constantly amazed that expats seem unable to grasp this basic simple fact.

Now after judicial coups against the move forward party or whatever its name is, then knocking off the shins last gasp .... the thai people have absolutely nothing left. No scraps nothing. Lets hope they don't get torqued up like what is happening in Indonesia, cause then us pats in patistan might have to up sticks and move.
Cheers

Yes well said and so true!!

I like this also, the PTP all supported her actions claiming it was the norm to insult the soldiers this way and say the things she said to the Cambodian leader thinking that Thaksin had their backs and his daughter would win. The whole party should be disbanded for their supporting what she said to the Cam leader. They are all just as guilty for this.

A bit blinkered there old son. Thaksin gave the Thai people scraps, chump change, to cover up the 5 course dinners and other extravagancies he was providing his family and all his Comrades in Corruption. Smoke and mirrors as he ripped off the Thai people.

My avatar shows what I think about all this!

They'll just come back with a new party as they have been doing for the last 25 years

Want to expand on that? Been here a long time and have no idea what you are talking about in this case.

yes, some are hardcore fans and some are just brainwashed … but many thais don’t like him anymore, and more and more won’t vote for him in the future …

btw, unjustified killings never solved the drug problem in thailand …

Maybe not completely, but it was at it lowest level ever.,only the police and army dealers were still in business according to wifey

I don't like the party but this is utter nonsense, as it was with the dissolution twice of the now names People's Party.

Am I being too democratic by saying that parties should not be dissolved so easily by a court and that elections should determine who runs the country?

That's the mindset of a lot of Thais... my wife included.

I keep hoping some decent leadership will arise against all the odds.

But hey, it's a worldwide problem, isn't it?

I don't even give my dogs scraps....    I treat them very well !

Same as the Thai public should be treated well by the government..   not as low class expendables

There is no place for any shins left here

Thaksin doesn't even rise to the level of Sheikha Hasina.

Unfortunately, there will be a reincarnation of this horrendous entity. First, there was the Thai Rak Thai, then Phua Thai, next maybe Thai sung thì soot nai lok (Thailand number 1)

It's either that or Anutin as PM.  It rests with the Peoples Party.

I know it is an impossible dream but isn't it about time that the courts rescinded the ban on Pita Limjaroenrat for his minor error in holding some television company shares and making some sensible remarks regarding the top family. Then Thailand really could begin to head into a more modern era. He did, after all win a thumping majority. Remarks the odious Thaksin has made in the past don't seem to matter.

Some useful background information here as to why the short-term alliance occurred between the traditional Establishment and the Shinawatras.  Each needed the other to crush rising radicalism:

In a dramatic turn of events, the Pheu Thai Party finds itself in the crosshairs as Ruangkrai Leekitwattana, a member of the Palang Pracharath Party, has submitted a petition to the Election Commission (EC) urging for the party's dissolution.

What are the chances? About 100%?

It was his idea the 30-baht scheme, and the pension, I was here at the time, and the wife's autistic daughter got some money each month as well, as far as I know, and the wife says it will continue; it would not be popular if it were stopped.

Not the first time you have quoted me on this subject, do I support murder, no it was not one of his better days when those 80 plus people died in the back of that truck it happened on his watch so he has to take the blame, like I said we are just  Aliens here, so immigration keeps telling us, it is there country we can only comment on the political situation of a country, if you cannot stand the heat in the kitchen.......

Pheu Thai is the current political vehicle for Thaksinomics. The original model was called Thai Ruck Thai, that heralded Thaksin onto the Thai political stage and ended when Ying Luck's premiership folded.

It's time for the "team manager" to just go away

without any chance of a court hearing, simply executing about 2,500 people, that i call radical ...

and get away with this killing and still some pepole (thais and farangs) think he is a hero ... that i call sick and radical ...
