Transfer from ABA account in Cambodia to my own KBank in Thailan

Featured Replies

wanted to ask about this but not sure what forum. I didn’t see the banking forum.
I want to transfer money from my own ABA account  in Cambodia to my own K bank account in Thailand.  I worry about my account in Thailand getting frozen because of the recent  issues.    Has anyone made transfers recently. Thanks

I think there no risk at all of your account being frozen when transferring funds from abroad into your Thai bank account..

You are jumping at shadows.

BTW if you are worried about Thai Bank account being frozen (whatever that means) then why you transferring funds to Thailand.

What type of permission of stay do you have for Thailand.

Extension from Non O etc  or...

What specifically are you referring to other than nonsense from BBL.

Today at 6'30 approx i send by KK mobile app just under the 50K limit (to avoid that face scan...) 48952,61 Thb for1250 euros OUT of Thailand  to E.U. Home bank .... fees 1240Thb . arrived very fast , almost immediate , only my home bank was not awake yet , final message from them came at Thai time 12 clock

I was worried because of the border conflict with Cambodia and I will be in process of getting another longterm visa after my last one expired a year ago.  I have been out of the country.  A frozen account would complicate things since I would be in between visas.

No problem, I've sent money from my ABA Bank account to my Kasikorn Bank account after the border dispute started and it hasn't caused any issues on either end. Can't let a little war get in the way of business, right?

So your plan is to obtain a new Non O.

Are you obtaining that in Thailand or Cambodia.

I was concerned about the border conflict and the banking issues. I will between visas so trying to avoid any direct contact with the bank until I have my non O again at least. Wasn’t sure if transfer]s from Cambodia where getting red flagged or not

Which immigration office for obtaining the Non O

Most likely Bangkok but it’s not written in stone yet

So?   What rational reason is there for your (unfounded) fear?   Just because there is a little border spat is not enough without specifics that give you cause for concern

Avoid Jomtien. They can make the Non O from visa exempt impossible by requiring the 800k in bank for 2 months seasoning when the actual rule requires only funds in bank on day of application.

He will use TM87 form.

Here is thread on visa exempt to Non O at CW.

Which "banking issues"?

Most likely reports detailing BBL requiring folk to make zero withdrawals for 4 months if requiring Bank Letter for annual extensions and signing bogus form to agree to that

I just sent some from Krungsri to ABA, no problem.

Obviously, I was asking him which banking issues he sees (imagines) in relation to funds coming in from a Cambodian account.   Bangkok Bank's policies are irrelevant to that.

The latest transfer was on August 26 - exactly one week ago. Seriously, don't worry about it.

I just tested it, worked great, but not the best exchange rate.  Similar to what you get inside Thailand at currency exchanges. So far it’s seems like the best option

No choice indeed , as each 50K i transfer out of Thailand cost me 36 euro in total .....and asking higher limit goes standard to a refusal because appropriate as it is now  = the standard answer ....

Banks making good money by this limiting excuses....kind of capital control ...money trying to keep in Thailand !

Well i don't mind to cry for breaking the egg shell if need of backing  scrambled egg's ....🖕to the bank's

Next trips to Thailand with E-Visa Non O 02  90 days 2 times a year and having so my 6 month Thailand plan , no need of money in Thai bank anymore or 1year or 6 month lease  only showing having value of 800K thb in Home country bank  easy done
