The only way is to not let them here in 1st place. What I don't understand is we are supposedly obliged to take the gimmigrants out of the channel to dry land...why are the French not obliged to do the same....they'll all be gone along with 15 million other interlopers once reform get in power, which the look of things will be by the end of year

Reform / Farage has Labour / Starmer spinning like a Superstar DJ's record decks.

Only 1000 arrived yesterday.

There is 2 Barracks that are immediately needed.

32,000 currently in hotels. Which equates to another 64 Barracks.

Better get building or stop spewing BS?

Nah ...3 step beds, 6 inches apart... you'll get at least 15,000 in one...

He has it taken multiple governments so long to come up with such an obvious solution.

Get some land, stick a big fence around it, build the kind of temporary accommodation they built during WWII, have a team processing the claims, genuine claims come in, non-genuine get out.

Too simple?

And make them work while they stay there to pay for it all.

The ones who have entered illegally have broken the law and should be removed back to where they came from. No chance of settlement.

I agree 100%. The illegals are now getting clever and applying for asylum!

Act 1971 and subsequent legislation like the Nationality, Immigration and Asylum Act 2002, states that entering or staying in the UK without proper authorization is a criminal offense, punishable by fines, imprisonment, or deportation. The Home Office has powers to remove individuals who are found to be in breach of immigration rules, often to their country of origin or a safe third country. However, enforcement is inconsistent due to practical and legal challenges. As of 2023, the UK government reported a backlog of over 160,000 asylum cases, with many illegal entrants applying for asylum to delay or prevent removal.

Riddle me this

Why are you following me around like a bad smell ?

Why should I take any poster seriously who claims to be in Thailand, yet posts profusely between 0300 and 0500 in the morning ?

The comment was posed to 1 poster. That poster was not you.

Bolt.

I invite others to read the revealing details of your post, and decide for themselves who is following whom.

Sennybridge! Should be able to get a few thousand into the forestry blocks around Dixie's Corner.

Water supply shouldn't be a problem.

Even got a social centre up at the Drovers Arms!

The UK government is considering relocating asylum seekers from hotels to military barracks as part of a new immigration policy.

Another U turn.

The tories had already proposed RAF Scampton as housing for assylum seekers but when Labour got in they scrapped the plan costing the country around £48 million.

The plan has merit but unfortunately SaxaVord has already been earmarked as a spaceport.  I am sure there must be some other remote base available.

It wouldn't be a bad idea if the new residents were also conscripted,  I doubt they would be so  eager to come to the UK if faced with military service.

It's a little disturbing that military barracks in the UK have that much empty space with all that's going on in Europe and the world.

It is quite significant the number of bases that have been closed and sold off in recent years. Also many reduced in size, Kinloss for example was transferred to the army and went from around 5000 to less than 1000 personnel.

I don't want to get into a link war with dueling numbers and statistics...  But my understanding (from admittedly right wing sources) is that the UK military is basically a shell of what it used to be.  Which doesn't bode well if Ukraine (or other parts of the world) go hot.

There will be a group of left wing lawyers, in cahoots with left wing judges, to block this, believe me.

Yes....and that will be one of the biggest challenges for the next government.

It's about time.

The regular population of the UK and the poor masses are suffering and there is the government spending billions on Ukraine and to fund all the misery of the world that is docking on the beaches of the UK. Same in most countries of Western Europe.

This is due to the disaster of the European Union who is absolutely doing nothing to send back all the economic migrants who are entering Europe and then sneaking into the UK.

The migrants are not at fault and are victims of human trafickers and mafias in their nations who exploit the situation. These handlers are in league with their counterpart mafias in Europe who are more then glad to get the cheap labour.

Look at the picture closer. Remove all the migrants and illegals and there will be nobody to wash the dishes in hotels or restaurants in most European metros or to pluck grapes and tomatoes in most of the farms in Italy, Spain, France ....

The solution would be to enhance the developpment of Ai generated robots who would take over these menial jobs,

In a few years it will be standard to have robots doing these tasks in Agriculture or Hotels and Restaurants.

It will motivate governance to stop the hypocrisy and immediately deport all the illegals in a humane and dignified manner we would hope.
