Donald Trump: mobs yell 'Hitler of our time'

Hitler almost conquered the whole world, Russia, North Africa, France, Scandinavia, Italy, Poland, Ukraine etc etc

And shot himself in a bunker in Berlin as the empire he "conquered" disintegrated around him after 5 years.

Not really a record to be admired perhaps.

Amazing that Hitler has reincarnated into so many people nowadays.

I'll make it easier:

<name of a person or people you personally hate> is/are Hitler.

There - solved!

Trump speak like Hitler with his dehumanising, ugly repulsive language. Called his opponents ënemies of the people and protrayed them as vermin and filth. America is a representative democracy unlike like Russia, North Korea, China and Venezula. No leaders in a democratic country use such demeaning words on their own people.

But something Trump can aspire to.

He has a little over three years to really do the job he needs to do, but he'll never match up to what some other presidents have done unless he has some miracles happen. Looking at what Roosevelt, Kennedy, Eisenhower, Washington, Lincoln, Harding and McKinley, along with a few others have done,it'll be nearly impossible to match that history.

It's an interesting question. You probably can't compare the challenges Lincoln and Trump each faced. Same with Roosevelt. Of course a world war and a civil war will always have more billing than an immmigration issue and trade restructuring.

But what Trump is doing now is the most courageous, strong-willed and patriotic we have seen in our lifetime. Including Reagan.

He did have a somewhat dubious relationship with his niece...

And she committed suicide by shooting herself with Hitler's own pistol....in the chest?????

The day after she was found to be planning to escape to Vienna.....????

Actually, it has now been revealed that Churchill wanted Hitler to be executed on the electric chair, so Hitler's suicide was a clear stroke of genius. Had he not killed himself he would have fallen into British or Russian hands.

Maybe a bit courageous, but what has he got to lose if it doesn't? And as long as it doesn't come back to bite all of us in the arse. Here is a poll ranking the presidents going back awhile.........https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Historical_rankings_of_presidents_of_the_United_States#Public_opinion_polls

That's the kicker.

Something is courageous when you have a lot on the line.........fortune, health, relationships..........but as you quite rightly point out......what has he got to lose?

Total hyperbole if I have ever witnessed it.

And he was on his honeymoon as well.

We all know his character, what he really is, but again, someone in his power can do a lot of good in his term, so that's what we're all hoping for. I'm sure people who oppose him would like to see him do well, so they can look back and say, "I guess I was wrong about him", but time will tell.

I suggest you not hold your breath while  waiting for the sleeze to do something good..

He has lost millions of dollars fighting legal actions brought by his political opponents, he has no doubt lost reputation and friends having to do some harsh things that needed to be done.'

Maybe he lost his marriage due to his work pressures, who knows what he lost. But he lost something.

Perhaps he is not the most courageous, strong-willed and patriotic that you think he is but a weak minded and greedy that can easily influenced and manupulated by stronger willed people behind the curtains with gifts and flattery.

Trump is the only embarrassment and by this and the boos at other events just recently, to quote an old US saying: – "he is as popular as a rattlesnake in a lucky dip".

If he loses his marriage, that's on him, as he's done things with other women that would make most anyone leave unless they also like the power they have being married to him. Millions of dollars means little to someone who was given millions, and had others help him make millions more in a matter of months with those investments. His character is well known to everyone, including those whom like him, so again, what he does in the next three years will either show what he's made of, or will bring about the truth his opponents have alluded to all along.

Granted his support for Israel does not do him credit, and yet all the things he's done, restructure world trade, solve the immigration issue, and much else will no doubt catapult him into the top rankings of US presidents.

Fascinating.........help nurture the fascist regime and develop its early policies, only to become a victim of antisemitism and escaping, eventually to South America......mind you ...lucky escape as it turns out.

He only cut back the illegals coming in and deported many, but there are still millions living illegally in the US and hundreds coming in monthly, and this will never stop, as it's Americans who are hiring them, as well as those who live with families who have legal status.

At the moment even EU members are afraid to go on holidayin the US, Trump has sent a clear signal that illegal immigration will not be tolerated. The numbers are down significantly. And the efforts of ICE to find and deport illegal immigrants are continuing.

This is way above and beyond what any leader in any other western democracy has been willing to deliver.

And Trump knew how controversial this deportation programme would be.

I'm also pretty sure that now that even Hyundai's partner companies were not excluded from raids, those thinking of hiring illegal workers, will think again.

A new American civil war is coming.

Martin Wolf of the Financial Times said in a talk I attended a couple of years ago, before Trump’s reelection, that he was far more worried about the state of U.S. politics than Britain’s. Essentially, the system in the U.S. is much more polarized, and the country is filled to the brim with powerful weapons. Economic discontent is building, and when combined with social media and growing anger, he warned, it could eventually explode and it will start most probably with infrastructure terrorism and political assasinations.

No one should ever be afraid of visiting the US legally. Yes, the deportations of the criminals was necessary, but taking people away from their families isn't, especially if they're taking jobs others don't want, which is what most immigrants do. There will always be money to be made in the illegal trade, including trafficking, and some officials are involved, so it will continue. No one on earth will ever know just how many are crossing every day, and it's more than people know, even though it's been curtailed. The immigration issue is a definite one, but there are many more things that are a lot more important that need to be addressed.

So going by the topic title, does this mean we should live in hope?

I agree, and hopefully efforts will continue to be made not to separate families.

Again, I agree, and chief among those was the US revitalising its manufacturing base and to stop its US companies from exporting jobs abroad. Here too Trump has made good progress.

Not only Israel but his weak response to Putin are making him look undecisive and weak. His favourability ratings are under water and even his immigration policy which was supported before has gone south. The economy is in a wrong direction due to his trade policy and translated to the main street with price increases hurting everyday people. At this rate, the best he can do is beat himself in his 1st term as the worst President.

The mentally ill have nothing else going on in their lives, except Trump.  Would be sad if it wasn't so funny.  Left is always good for a chuckle :cheesy:
