Martin Wolf of the Financial Times said in a talk I attended a couple of years ago, before Trump’s reelection, that he was far more worried about the state of U.S. politics than Britain’s. Essentially, the system in the U.S. is much more polarized, and the country is filled to the brim with powerful weapons. Economic discontent is building, and when combined with social media and growing anger, he warned, it could eventually explode and it will start most probably with infrastructure terrorism and political assasinations.

I agree with him.

Meant every words I said Sir. If the first 100 days is an indication of what will come for rest of his term, it will be disastrous and even worst then his first term.

His actions are mind-boggling powered by ignorance and incoherence. His sociopathic desire to disrupt and eagernous to pulverize the foundations of the government, democracy, alliances and any notion of truth. He has been lawless and authoritarian in his policies, defy judges, deport people without due process, pardon criminals, urging federal agencies to take vengeance against his perceived enemies. He wouldn't change and we can expect worsening situation whether it is economic or foreign relationship for the rest of his term.

His first 100 days have surpassed all expecations. They were a whirlwind of activity and achievement. He restructured global trade in favour of the US. He made good on his promise to deal harshly with illegal immigration. He gave dignity back to the armed forces. He  ended the Thai - Cambodian war, even we benefitted from his work.

Nobody expected such a clear and ambitious agenda, nor that he would achieve so much so quickly.

It wasn't perfect, Israel will tarnish his record and he couldn't separae the Ukrainians and Russians, but there too, he put in the hours.

His first 100 days were the triumph of hard work over expectations. Trump has done a great job.

And inflation is kicking in due to the tarrifs.

Inflation is lower currently than it was under Biden.

MAGA SCOTUS Hands Trump a Double Victory

Two priority policies of the Trump administration could get Supreme Court approval.

The Supreme Court handed Donald Trump victory on two fronts Tuesday as it once again challenged lower court decisions reining in the president’s authoritarian instincts.

First, the conservative-majority court announced it would hear the Trump administration’s argument that the president has the authority to impose tariffs under the International Emergency Economic Powers Act, which permits doing so in the case of an “unusual and extraordinary threat” from outside the U.S.

It also paused a federal judge’s order that the administration should cough up billions in foreign aid mandated by Congress.

There is no credible evidence to suggest that Adolf Hitler had bone spurs. Most historical accounts focus on his various health issues, including mental and physical ailments, but bone spurs are not mentioned as part of his medical history.

From the song of old...

"Hitler, he only had one b@ll!" (updated with...) Trump, had two hands, but they were small. Himler, had something similar, and poor old JD had no b@lls at all!"

Hardly a victory for Trump. The courts are going to look at the cases. Winning winning winning.

Wrong meaning those who oppose him won't come around and say he's done good? Of course some are in a constant state of denial. I've watched Trump long before he became the president and see what he is as a person, but that doesn't mean he can't do any good. He, along with others behind him, have some good ideas, as does the other side, but fighting between themselves is how things take awhile to change.

I saw his hesitancy when Covid started, and thought he could have done a much better job if his ego wasn't in the way. People have a tendency to put all the blame on the president, and think everything he does is all his ideas. He signs on things people behind him bring about, which is his job.

We all can see what he actually says and what's recorded, so some of it is out there, but again, in the long run, we hope things will change for the better for all Americans. You can't hide bad actions no matter what words were used. He obviously likes America, but will he do things that will help and not hurt thinking this way? America needs all other countries for something, and America has all other countries people living there, so you can't make enemies as that'll backfire eventually. America does have to come first, but that doesn't mean you neglect your neighbors and allies.

Trump will do a lot of good and be insufferable in the process

if you think that means the lefties will admit they were wrong I am afraid your mistaken

I don't understand this perspective at all, somehow Trump has not done well in his first 100 days? His presidency this time around was like a typhoon of one victory after another, that swept all before it.

We've not seen a 100 days of continous achievement like we have with Trump.

It blew everyone away.

Actually, it has now been revealed that Churchill wanted Hitler to be executed on the electric chair, so Hitler's suicide was a clear stroke of genius. Had he not killed himself he would have fallen into British or Russian hands.

Neither of whom used the electric chair. The British favoured hanging ( after a trial), the Russians were less formal, and usually favoured a pistol shot to the back of the head.

Well, it's on record:

During a cabinet meeting on 14 December, 1942, he observed that 'if Hitler falls into our hands we shall certainly put him to death'. In what appears to be a grim joke, and a nod to executions used by his US allies, he suggested the 'electric chair, for gangsters, no doubt available on lease lend'.

This prompted Churchill to ask if they should negotiate with Himmler 'and bump him off later', once peace terms had been agreed. The suggestion to cut a deal for a German surrender with Himmler and then assassinate him won support from the Home Office. '

Talk about gangsters.

The vast majority of people of any political description are not deep thinkers. DUH.

Does this suggest that I am misguided in referring to the left as deep thinkers?   The most impressive mind on this site is @BLMFem

Trump speak like Hitler with his dehumanising, ugly repulsive language. Called his opponents ënemies of the people and protrayed them as vermin and filth. America is a representative democracy unlike like Russia, North Korea, China and Venezula. No leaders in a democratic country use such demeaning words on their own people.

Yeah, history doesn't repeat.

But it does rhyme.

There are indeed numerous valid parallels between Trump and Hitler and also many things that aren't.

I think he is indeed the most Hitlerian president in American history though without any doubt.

I don't know why anyone would compare Trump to Hitler. Trump is far more like Mussolini. Mussolini would even end many of his speeches with "Make Italy great again." Wanting to return to its Roman glory.

Hitler was responsible for a totalitarian regime, genocide, and global war. Trump, despite his polarizing style, operated within the U.S. democratic system

The thread has meandered at best. Here's a headline and a line drom the DT today that makes sense to me :-

"Comparing Farage and Trump to Hitler is the mark of a moron".

. . . . "Extraordinary, isn’t it? Trump’s foes are hardly short of things they could attack him on. From his approach to Ukraine to the chaos caused by his tariffs on free trade, there are countless criticisms of Trump that are perfectly reasonable and legitimate. Yet these nitwits have chosen just about the only one that isn’t."
