British TV Star Zara McDermott’s Filming Fright in Thailand

Featured Replies

The documentary is a production by South Shore Productions and delves into why thousands of young Brits are drawn to Thailand each year. It explores party islands, backpacker hubs, and deeper issues like the sex work industry. McDermott aims to provide insight into these topics while giving a platform to local sex workers.

  • permission or not to film in Thailand, you still require the permission of individual venues and customers to film, not every bar/club will allow you to film

What a pretentious, snobby, drama-queen, click-bait, sheltered, judgmental, condescending, self-absorbed, narcissistic, pompous, vain, haughty, superficial, overdramatic, sensationalist, melodramatic, sanctimonious, holier-than-thou, self-important, prima donna, and attention-starved young lady shouldn't have given her permission in the first place what did she expect?

Couldn't you think of a few adjectives to describe her? 😅😅

I chatgpt ran out of words!

Anything the BBC touches is mired in bias or scandal.

The place has so many people caught for paedophilia, it is a joke.

I haven't paid for a TV license, yes, they actually want us to fund this disgraceful organisation, for 5 years!

Their pride of place statue on the front of their building, which they refuse to remove, depicts Prospero and Aero, a naked little boy from Shakespeare's The Tempest, sculpted by Eric Gill, who sexually abused his two daughters and the family dog, tells you all that you need to know about this disgusting organisation!

Attention Wh0ring 101, claim that the local plod was out to get you.

She seemed a bright girl to me though the reporting was superficial as is often the case with exposure documentaries of this type.Still a lot of the criticism is unplaced. She wasn't having a go at the fat bald middle aged losers who represent the brothel town of Pattaya but more the gormless young males who seek thrills in Thailand. Not one educated person involved as far as one could see. Also it's easy to forgive the excesses of young males.

In short - Almost got the standard belting but then a warm & fuzzy picture at the end to smooth things over once realised these punching bags were international "media".

“We nearly got arrested because of the filming that we were doing, but we’d got all the permissions in advance,” McDermott shared at a London screening, leaving many startled by the implications

Not surprising — in Thailand many bars strictly prohibit filming and photography, even if you think you have permission. It can quickly lead to misunderstandings or even legal trouble.
