A pity we couldn't read the actual mail that Fauci sent.

Rand Paul left Baylor University without completing his baccalaureate degree. He was accepted into his father's alma mater, the Duke University School of Medicine, which, at the time, did not require an undergraduate degree for admission. Completed his residency at Duke University in ophthalmology. Paul specializes in cataract and glaucoma surgeries, LASIK procedures, and corneal transplants.

Could be difficult for him to say to Fauci: That's not correct because I was able to study viruses in my ophthalmology classes.

The usual ad-hominem BS.

It would NOT be difficult to confront Fauci with his lies while under oath that he (Fauci) never told colleagues/staff to "delete this after you read it", when the e-mails prove that he did so.

That's perjury, and punishable with jail-time.

Looking forward seeing that criminal squirm...

He may. Whatever was going on during the early days of the COVID-19 pandemic, he was up to his neck in it, so they will have hooked a big fish.

Rand Paul won't give up on this, will he?

Who is paying him to keep it up, or why won't he just take Big Pharma money and shut up like many of the rest of his colleagues?

Ohh lord... Not this guy again.

Let's see just where Rand Paul rates on the credibility scale when it comes to public health issues:

Rand Paul

Disease control

"Paul has spread false claims about the safety and efficacy of the COVID-19 vaccine and other vaccines, once saying, "I've heard of many tragic cases of walking, talking, normal children who wound up with profound mental disorders after vaccines." On February 3, 2015, he posted a photograph to Twitter of himself being vaccinated." [emphasis added]

...

At a Senate committee hearing on September 23, 2020, Paul clashed with Anthony Fauci, director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases.[363][364] Paul asked Fauci if he had "second thoughts" about the CDC's mitigation recommendations, including mask-wearing and maintaining a six-foot space of social distancing.[365] Paul said New York's high fatality rate showed that mitigation efforts were insufficient.[366] Fauci replied, "You've misconstrued that Senator, and you've done that repetitively in the past", saying that New York had succeeded in getting the virus under control by adhering to the CDC's clinical guidelines." [emphasis added]

...

At Senate hearings in May and July 2021, Paul debated Anthony Fauci on the origin of COVID-19, gaining media attention for his concerns about the risks of lab work. In July 2021, Fauci responded to Paul's allegations and called him a liar. In August 2021, Paul was suspended from YouTube for a week under the company's misinformation policy after he published a video with false claims that masks are not effective. Paul also released a video of himself calling on people to "resist" public health measures to halt the spread of COVID-19." [emphasis added]

etc etc etc.

'Absolutely irresponsible': Rand Paul's colleagues are calling him out after he reportedly went to the gym after testing for coronavirus

Mar 23, 2020

  • Sen. Rand Paul's colleagues in the Senate are calling him out after he reportedly refused to practice social distancing after testing for the coronavirus.
  • Paul, who later tested positive, used the Senate pool and gym after being tested, according to Washington Post reporter Seung Min Kim.
  • "No one is too important to disregard guidance to self-quarantine pending test results," Sen. Martha McSally, a Republican, said.
  • Sen. Kyrsten Sinema, a Democrat, said Paul's actions were "absolutely irresponsible."

Paul Repeats Baseless Vaccine Claims

February 3, 2015

"Sen. Rand Paul gave false and misleading statements about vaccine safety in two separate interviews, including a claim that “many” children have developed “profound mental disorders” after vaccinations. [emphasis added]

There is no evidence that any currently recommended vaccine causes brain damage or other mental disorders in otherwise healthy children. Severe reactions do occur but are extremely rare."

I don't know how the Sys Admins at CDC run or ran their Microsoft Exchange Server software, but when I used to look after one - and it was around 25 years ago - if a user deleted an e-mail it was only deleted from the user's message store and would be held in an area of the back end database for a while before being purged according to policy, or could be purged by an admin. This increases the chances the deleted e-mails would make it to backups.

I don't know what the CDC data retention policies were at the time. Are there statutory minimum data retention policies in order to allow for forensic examination in case, say, a USA Senator suspects the CDC Director to have engaged in sharp practices?

Ohh, Paul knows all about Big Pharma.... just not abiding by the rules for lawmakers who invest in it:

"On February 26, 2020, Paul's wife purchased between $1,000 and $15,000 worth of stock in Gilead Sciences, a pharmaceutical company that produces an antiviral drug used to treat COVID-19, before the threat from the coronavirus was fully understood by the public; his disclosure of this transaction came 16 months after the legal deadline set forth in the Stock Act, a law that combats insider trading.[189] Paul's office stated that the disclosure form was filled up on time, but by mistake was not submitted.[190] This purchase was the only stock in an individual company that Paul or his wife bought in the previous 10 years." [emphasis added]

Are you operating under the mistaken belief that Anthony Fauci ever was the U.S. CDC director?  Because he wasn't!

"Anthony Stephen Fauci (born December 24, 1940) is an American physician-scientist and immunologist who served as the director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) from 1984 to 2022, and the chief medical advisor to the president from 2021 to 2022.[6] Fauci was one of the world's most frequently cited scientists across all scientific journals from 1983 to 2002.[7][8] In 2008, President George W. Bush awarded him the Presidential Medal of Freedom, the highest civilian award in the United States, for his work on the AIDS relief program PEPFAR."

You attack Rand but you don't defend Fauci. Why is that? Are you coming to the realization that he's lied and he's deep in the proverbial? Of course those that weren't brainwashed by the narritive knows Fauci has a lot to answer for. Apart from this it may ensue that his autopen pardon ain't going to protect him..

I think I defended him just fine by recounting his long and exemplary record of public service:

"Anthony Stephen Fauci (born December 24, 1940) is an American physician-scientist and immunologist who served as the director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) from 1984 to 2022, and the chief medical advisor to the president from 2021 to 2022.[6] Fauci was one of the world's most frequently cited scientists across all scientific journals from 1983 to 2002.[7][8] In 2008, President George W.
