Donald Trump says he will sue New York Times for $15bn

Featured Replies

Trump is currently suing the Wall Street Journal for reporting on a birthday letter the president allegedly sent to the late sex offender Jeffrey Epstein in 2003. While the Journal produced a photo of the letter, which included Trump’s signature at the bottom, the president has denied being the author.

Great move, Donald!  Suing the Times will get just get MORE attention paid to your "deplorable" activities with your buddy Epstein.

But wouldn't it have been easier and more effective to.....you know.... release the files?

  • Oh no, the end of democracy, the New York Times is going to have to quit lying about Trump!

They can sue just as he can, so why haven't they (apart from the freak E Jean Carroll whose suit will be overturned in due course)?

Then a couple of years later, in a Georgia courtroom, J Alex Haldeman showed that Fox was right.  The Dominion machines could be hacked.  With just a BIC pen and a $5 USB chip.

More ridiculous propaganda distortion from you! 🤣

The lawsuit was not about Fox News discussing that voting machines could be hacked. It was about baselessly claiming they had actually been hacked with the complicity of Dominion.  And knowingly lying about it, as TV hosts were sending messages to each other, stating they they knew Trump's claim was B.S.! 🤣

A lawsuit he's sure to lose, as the WSJ merely described the birthday card without making any assertion about its authenticity. Of course, dumb Trump fell directly into the trap! 🤣

By suing he  waived his presidential immunity ! Nice move Donny. 555

Confident move not hiding behind presidential privilege.

If the machines were hackable and Dominion actively hid that from the public and their customers, that's kinda the definition of complicity.

Had the Haldeman case proeceeded the Fox lawsuit, it would have gone much differently.

Pot Kettle

I used a few AI apps (Chatgpt and Gemini) to see if they could find any eminent conservative political scholar who thinks Trump has a strong case against the NY Times. It came up zilch. There were some like Jonathan Turley and Eugene Volokh who thought his case was weak. Really couldn't find anyone of note who thought he would succeed.

Is it true Miller has porcelain versions of these in his office and plays with them during his downtime?

Why only 15bn? A poor and homeless Babe deserves at least 10 times that amount. I know it's a mistake of his advisors.

It's just as likely he doesn't care if he wins the suit. He may just want to subpoena testimony and documents that he wouldn't have access to otherwise.

No telling what skeletons his legal team may find hidden in their closets.

And I think the first correspondence from his legal team would be a warning to preserve all related documents and emails. Without the lawsuit, they could wipe it all clean.

How big is that hole you're digging? It's still not what was said on Fox News! 🤣

What was claimed on Fox News included the following:

- Dominion was created to rig elections

- Dominion has ties to Venezuela and Hugo Chavez,

- Dominion software switched votes f4om Trump to Biden.

Hey, shoot for the stars and settle for the moon.  He sued CBS for $$ billions and settled for $16 million.

Not a bad day's work.  Got his point across, put the fear of God (and bankruptcy) into them and got a few $$ mill for a worthy cause.

I wouldn't mind an extra $16 million into my retirement account.

Hopefully this time round NYT will not fold, unlike other media. Trump is in effect suppressing a holy grail in the US - Freedom of Speech

AI quickie:

Yes, a plaintiff can absolutely be called for a deposition in a civil suit; it's a common and crucial part of the legal discovery process where the defendant's lawyer asks the plaintiff sworn questions to gather information for the case. The plaintiff, as the deponent, must attend and provide truthful, sworn testimony, though their attorney will be present to monitor the questioning and object to inappropriate or irrelevant questions.

In a civil lawsuit, "discovery" is the pre-trial process where both the plaintiff and the defendant gather evidence and information from each other to prepare for trial. It's designed to prevent "trial by ambush" and to ensure a fair and just outcome.

And the Epstein files, they bad job numbers, his inability to prevent inflation from

BTW Trump v. WSJ et al Defendants have to file a response to the Complaint on or before September 22, 2025, which will likely include a motion to dismiss.
