Sorry:

My typo....

One cannot make it NOT Green, and still retain the meaning of the original Chinese idiom.

The meaning of .... "to wear a green hat"...in Chinese culture, is to be cuckolded.

So, color matters.

If not green, then the meaning is lost.

As I say:  My sincere apologies for my typo.  I left out a "not".

Of course, this idiom is not new.

To wear a green hat in China?

Best NOT to....

Apology accepted.

Have a nice day

  • Don't worry about the posters using the red thumb down, they're just losers the best I can ascertain. They're hunched over their laptop in their 25M hellhole with no relief in sight.

  • Are you crying out for attention?

  • Only the best most truthful posts are worthy of the thumbs down. If your post doesnt get at least 10 thumbs down you need to try harder

The room I stayed in last week in a Airbnb was 21sqm and plenty of single farangs long term there

I made that comment sort of in jest and sort of not. For guys who retire with not too much monthly income, I can see it, a comfy recliner, a huge screen TV, close to the beach, bars and stores, probably a decent pool to lounge at. Not a bad life.

How can you "ascertain" anything about anonymous individuals from any emoji, the posters of which you can never identify?    Some people may suggest, not I, of course, that you're the "loser" for making such an banal suggestion.

I posted in jest, but here you are showing up trying to empress your indignation. We're all anonymous here, I'll bet you really think the OP is a floor mopper, don't you?

I don't think so, you seemed to be suggesting that you'd investigated embarrassingly thoroughly.

What on earth does "empress [sic] my indignation"  mean?

Of course this is easy to understand that one would believe this, possibly due to the lack of empirical thought. And the opinions of others has nothing to do with it as many of a wide range of spectrums do it, though anyone not paying attention would know it.

Huh?

He's only gotten one more thumbs down since Friday, his lone thumbs up and 11 laughing faces have stayed the same.

I wonder if this is the most lopsided result ever in terms of "thumbs up" vs "thumbs down?"  In other words, is it the single most disliked post in the history of the board?

Ha ha, it was my thumbs up.

It felt out of place so I changed it for a heart

The Red down thumb

I noticed some people are overusing it possibly making posters feel uncomfortable

If you are uncomfortable, like many other members here who feel that they are antagonizing, you should be protected by the authorities.

AN Forum Rule #11 states
You will not troll or stalk other members by misusing forum posts, private messages, reactions, emojis or by any other means.

These members trolling with emoji's must be stopped, why are you suffering needlessly?

Perhaps it is the members here that are the ones that are suffering due to his endless nonsensical topics....:wai:
