Ever heard about sarcasm? Post I was replying to complained that his Wise transfer hadn't arrived after 15 minutes

Sorry I did not read it as that. Put 555 after, meaning hahaha so it is clear.

  • The problem is with Bangkok bank, and IMO everyone should cease doing business with the bank before it's too late

  • Never do a Wise transfer on a Friday, it will not go through until Monday.

  • Several people, including myself are having the same problem with the same message from yesterday. It's mentioned a on another ongoing thread. Also, cannot cancel the transfer. Hopefully they wil

It's taking longer these days. I used to transfer money from the UK with Wise and it would only take minutes. Now it can take a couple of days

Yesterday..Tues. the 30th. I sent 2,000 usd from my WISE NYC account. Cash I had in that account.

All looked ok...same as the last 100 times.

But, No money at 2pm yesterday. No money today...18 hours late.

There's a note with the transfer history that says something like. "It is taking longer than usual to send you money. We will keep you informed"

Any one have this problem besides me?

Had the same and found out it was the Thai bank that was delaying it

Great guess with the countries, but no prize.

The code is actually "DEP TRF FR E-CH" and Bangkok Bank say it means "Deposit/Transfer via e-Channels".

Tip, never send money with Wise if the expected time of arrival is not stated as "in seconds" or "in minutes" As soon as you see an estimated arrival time It means that the system is not stable and that there are relatively wild swings in the value of a currency. In such a situation, it can take up to a few days before your money arrives. Even if the system becomes stable again, your transaction could take up to two or three days.

Just wait half an hour or an hour till the system is stable again, and the time is measured in seconds or minutes.

You might want to consider sending money from your bank to a Thai VisaCard instead, if your bank offers this option. Banks like Revolut offer this standard. The cost are about the same and the money always arrives in seconds.

Many Bankgok Bank recipients actually want their deposits with a timed arrival as it usually means they are routed such that they get the FTT notation required for immgration when extending permission to stay, so your statement does not hold up.

Had it occasionally.

Others reported similarly.

Can't tell what's behind.

High volume month end?

My EUR transfer initiated yesterday looks normal so far.

Payout 10 AM today, on the account about 2 PM.

When I transfer bahts to Bangkok Bank from my euro balance, they always say it will take seconds but when I confirm, it's always the following day !

I was having this same issue but only with Bangkok Bank - I added two more other bank accounts and its transferred immediately.

Lately my transfers take 3-4 days. The hangup seems to be getting the money from my bank, not wise holding on to it for days then sending. It used to be instantaneous bank -> wise and I'd get the transfer within an hour. No idea why it's so slow for wise to get the money now.

Yes i'd been having slow transfers in past month or so ie: 24+ hours some times.  Changed from bkk bank to kbank and last transfer (1000 aud $) in recent days was back to instant again.

It’s taken up to five days at times for me. Together with the 50,000 baht limit sending to most banks, quite frustrating. Especially if you need to transfer a larger amount like 120,000 baht. That could take weeks. I miss the days when there was no amount limit and it always transferred in seconds.

Agree. I sent money the same time to SCB and Bangkok Bank. SCB took 10 seconds, Bangkok Bank 2 days with a message that there was an extra delay.

If you use REMITLY you'll have no problems. $1.99 to transfer ANY amount, and the transfer is immediate, takes only seconds

sure, that is if you fall for the Remity clickbait.

Look at the exchange rate, which is only for the first 1000 Euro, then get much worse

No problems sending to my SCB account. Usually there in minutes.

Recently used their wise digital card on my phone for tap and go payments in Japan. Instant with very good exchange rate.

Use Wise to convert your money then transfer it in Baht, and it should be instantaneous especially if it's within banking hours at both ends.

Especially if you're with K Bank. Their app often says it's arrived before Wise confirms it's been sent.

Had it with a transfer to Vietnam recently. They said something like identity verification required first, might take a few days, in spite of having done the same transfer dozens of times. Wasn't able to cancel it.

An hour later, wise asked me 2 rather dumb /irrelevant questions.

1)which country are you sending the money to? Vietnamese Dong to a Vietnamese account, so obviously

Vietnam

2)is this your only source of income? (why do they care)

I answer yes

A minute later I had my money

They sent me an email telling me my money is being held back because they are too busy, but I should get my money the following day. It did come the following day so I had no problem with that.

no,never hada problem after over 15 years and over 60/70 transactions a year

2 days happens.

Depends on currency and as experienced just days ago it might take longer around month end.

The most annoying problem over the years: September this year the transfer was not clearly labelled as international transfer.

Might give a headache at immigration.

My transfers to Bangkok Bank over the years were always next afternoon.

No. I don't use Wise, fortunately.
