Again he would have had to walk away from his destination if he was to walk against the traffic.

Got it LOL.

Your knowledge of the street system in Thailand is epic.

Pro tip:  in SE Asia, it doesn't matter which side of traffic you walk on.  The bikes and scooters and pickups, and occasionally fully-laden 22-wheel gravel trucks, ride/drive on whichever side the op

Quote "he swerved his motorcycle to avoid a taxi and accidentally grazed the foreigner" Watching the video tells another story. Good to see he wants the police to take full legal action as that is the

Oh so you are suggesting he walks on a different soi than the one he wanted to walk on. Just on the off chance some random old nutcase decided to drive into him then assault him. Yes he really should have seen that coming lol. Can you predict all eventualities? Have you got the next lottery numbers?

Not saying he deserved the kick in the head ...but...what a <deleted> walking around shirtless .

He is clearly wearing a shirt.

Well I do have a mini runners light on my man bag for dark roads late at night. And I try not to wear black shirts where I know I will be walking in a badly lit area. And soi dog protection.

But hey, when I first came to Bangkok there wasnt any BTS or MRT so you learned on foot. HBU?

Exactly what is a typical 'yank'??

Police shouldn't facilitate an apology only reason is he has been told that the courts when sentencing will take into account remorse and any apology given irrespective of it was heartfelt or just to get further leniency from the court. Police should investigate and prosecute if necessary that is all

There are some guys in my condo building that walk around shirtless. It feels like a male dominance thing like they do in prison. They actually have pretty good builds/chests so that makes me even more uneasy (I have a flabby chest).

My breasts and belly need to be free!

So a 1,000b fine that'll teach him.....

The guy is lucky he's not in hospital with broken bones walking in the middle of the road.

Looks like a good pavement to walk on.

Some people are looking for trouble

Mate, do you even live in Thailand, your comment is rediculous, where should be walk...before answering, look closely at the video, people are blocking any walkway, motorcycle block any access to the walkway..you weren't there, but chose to sit in judgement.

He said it caused him fear and disappointment, especially as he frequently visits Thailand and loves the country

C*nts in every country, my friend, yours and mine included. Was recently back ‘home’ and couldn’t get over how particularly <deleted>e the standard of driving was. People might give way more, but there are also some absolute mouth-breathing morons on the roads.

Hate crime against foreigners along with vigilantism need to be criminalized in Thailand.

So better not report this guy and many others for  smoking for fear of your life!!!!!

They both got aggressive and the Thai ended it with a kick to the head.  He should have been fined much more so he might control his temper next time.  I hope the Thai realizes that the kick could have resulted in a much worse outcome for him and the tourist.  Life in the fast lane...

More like the low life lane…

Aggressive? Is that what it's called when a person is bumped by a swerving scooter , then punched when he's trying to get evidence? It's actually exactly what should be done, in case they try to hit then run, which the driver did, then turned himself in the next day.  Read what the suspect said, confessing. I'd also like to know what a typical Yank is, as that seems to be to go to by some who haven't a clue how Yanks really are, and only goes by videos.

Actually for once Yabadabadoo is not dumb. Any country in the world it’s wise to walk in the direction of oncoming traffic.

Well that explains a lot, best you not comment on things invovling Thailand, because you have no idea.

The victim reacted by raising his arm and saying he intended to take photographs for a report, which enraged Boontan. He admitted the attack was “a moment of anger” and expressed regret, stating he wanted to apologise to the victim if given the chance.

Yeah a Wai always sorts things out... after a moment of rage

Yet another incident in the late evening/early morning. Best to be in bed, alone or accompanied, by midnight.

Doesn't seem to work very well here on a busy road without pavements......

In reality the guy was walking in the middle of the road which makes no sense.
