How To Totally Delete All YAHOO Activity From My ACER Notebook

Featured Replies

Suddenly when I try to do any search (any search engine) I get a message that 'YAHOO Search has been terminated in Thailand'

I've tried "How to totally delete all Yahoo services from my ACER Swift 3 notebook", but I get message 'Yahoo Services now terminated in Thailand'.

It's become very annoying. Any advise how to totally delete Yahoo much appreciated.

Thanks.

There won't be much data created/collected by Yahoo that is stored on your computer.  There will be a few cookies but those are usually only decipherable by Yahoo.  A few cached bits of data but that was done by your browser, not Yahoo.  Each browser has a procedure that should allow you to delete all Yahoo cookies.

Most of the data you want deleted will be stored by Yahoo on their computers.  You will have to ask them to remove your data from their servers.

Without more details I can only guess that for some reason you are only accessing Yahoo's search engine.

to do a Google search just go to Google.com and enter your query on the search field.  Don't start your search from your browser's address bar.

Yahoo mail is still alive, I was a bit worried there.

I asked the wrong questions / made the wrong comments:

- In the past I have never used Yahoo for anything. So there shouldn't be any old search data (achieved by Yahoo search) in my computer.

-My aim is to totally prevent the instant pop up message 'Yahoo search no longer operating in Thailand ' when I do any search even though Google Chrome is my preferred search engine. Yahoo search now seems to pop up regardless of anything.

So my real purpose is to totally / permanently remove Yahoo search.

There is no Yahoo search software installed on your computer.  I am pretty sure it is only a website.  There really is nothing for you to remove.  Probably one of your Chrome settings is sending you to Yahoo.

how are you doing a search?

It seems like you use Google's Chrome browser.  Is Chrome set to be your default browser?

Do you know how to check what search engine Chrome is using?  If so, make sure it is not Yahoo.

The other possibility is that Yahoo is set to be your start up page or the default page that appears when you open a new tab.

Have you checked your Chrome settings? Seems like your default search engine may be set to Yahoo.

Use the top menu, go to Chrome -> Settings -> Search Engine. If it says Yahoo, change it to Google.

I just had this today when using the yahoo search bar, got the same message. The Bing bar on the new tab screen worked as normal.

Did you take any action to totally kill / delete yahoo / yahoo search?

No just used the bing search on the new tab. Yahoo is my opening page with yahoo search and then can open new tab with bing search. Now again today they updated me to new yahoo mail that I think sucks and if I want to keep the old one have to pay $5/mo. First Skype now this. Hell, I'll pay just stop "improving" stuff that works.

I have given up on Yahoo Mail as it keeps telling me I can't sign in. Can I change to my Gmail with Lazada? If so how?

Log in to Lazada, go to My Account and there's a link to edit your profile and email. It's not complicated.
