A former Danish boxer caused alarm in a Phuket neighbourhood on the afternoon of October 18 when he drunkenly climbed onto the roof of a residence and threatened to jump, prompting a swift and coordinated police response. Officers from Karon Police Station received a report at 15:35, of a foreign man behaving frantically in Soi Namdeum Green, Karon Subdistrict, Mueang District and quickly moved to the scene with local rescue officials and residents.

Upon arrival, officers found the man, later confirmed to be Danish, in a state of severe intoxication. He was shouting incoherently and making gestures as if preparing to leap from the roof. Despite repeated attempts by officers and locals to calm him down, he refused to cooperate and continued his erratic behaviour for some time.

The situation escalated until senior police and administrative officials arrived, including Pol. Capt. Thiyuth Suksanguan, Deputy Inspector of Crime Prevention and Suppression, and Pol. Lt. Col. Sumit Suksamran, Deputy Superintendent of the same division. They worked alongside Dr. Winai Chitchew, the Karon Subdistrict Chief and other personnel to devise a safe plan to restrain the man. Their coordinated intervention successfully ended the standoff and secured the man without any injury or damage to property.

A preliminary investigation revealed that the man is a former professional boxer from Denmark currently residing in the Kata area of Phuket. Authorities believe his behaviour resulted from extreme intoxication rather than any deliberate intent to harm himself or others.

Following the rescue, officers escorted the man to Chalong Hospital for medical evaluation and observation, following standard safety and health procedures. Police confirmed that he will be monitored until he regains sobriety, after which further assessment will determine if any legal or medical follow-up action is required.

Officials praised the joint effort of the police, administrative staff and local residents, whose cooperation ensured a safe resolution to a potentially dangerous situation. Authorities reminded the public to contact local law enforcement immediately in similar incidents involving erratic or intoxicated individuals to prevent harm.

Another moron! Welcome to Thailand. Pay your hospital bill and go home.

Put him on the blacklist for 10 years once he's paid all the expenses he incurred.

Another day, another moron.

Prior to air travel, most of these idiots would never have survived the overland or sea journey from Europe to here.

Another punch drunk tourist, let him jump how he likes it?

Looks like he blocked too many punches with his head

I thought Danish people were nice, quiet and helpful. Oh well, there goes another superstition out the window.

Another of TAT's guests letting the side down.

Hopefully quality will soon prevail or will the 2026 target be pushing the golden 40M target

Should bring out the water cannon to remove them from high places.

It ensures that only the mentally challenged are in harm's way

Should have just left him to jump or fall off, at least that would be a good use for an ambulance, the cops should just have thrown him in a cell to sober up, not waste hospital resources. :coffee1:

A lot of action to get this moron.

If he wanted to jump.......

Utterly pathetic behaviour by the Dane, wasting the time of the emergency services.

Police must be getting confused & tired of all these foreign idiots performing, no back handers to be had.
