Scam Warning

Featured Replies

I foolishly paid money for an App (?)/software on the internet to Photica (I think its parent company is Pixly.)  My younger brother is 80 next year and I wanted to surprise him with a number of family black & white photos colourised and turned into videos.)

I realised within hours that I could not get the programme to work & asked for a refund.

Their response was disappointing.

'Your subscription has been successfully canceled, so you won’t be charged moving forward. We’d like to kindly remind you that, based on our policy, we are unable to process a refund.
As stated in our Terms and Conditions, all subscription purchases are final and non-refundable. When making a purchase, you acknowledge and agree that refunds are not available.'

Obviously I had not read the small print.  (I did not even know I would be expected to pay a monthly subscription in the future!)

This contribution is both a warning and a plea for assistance in getting my money back.  It is not a great sum but I worry that this company now has all my Bangkok Bank financial details and I am concerned at what future dealings may occur.

Can anyone suggest a course of action?

Did you not use Google/Apple Pay? If you did neither reveals your bank details to the app company.

Obviously you can put a dispute transaction in with your bank , credit card company

Thank you for this.  My card is with Bangkok Bank & I use it mainly for ATM withdrawals.  As the scam company already has my money, how would my bank retrieve it?  I am asking as I intend visiting to instruct them to make no further payments to the offending company.
