Certainly not a Yank. Not fat enough.

Sheesh.  I do not recall reading about Bangla road flooding like that before.  Pattaya flooding of course all the time.  Bangla road is pretty flat and goes right down to the beach.

Might well be as if it was a yank the ring would be under water and all you would see is a fat lad with a double cheeseburger up in the air trying not to get wet!

They will  require. more than jabs if they get a good dose of Leptospirosis and don't get treatment quick enough.

We have had 24 deaths in the Philippines since August 2025 flooding period

Erm, you have double vision, there is only one guy not two.

I went to Puerto Rico a few decades ago, I was the only Brit there, the rest were Yanks.

We would have a breakfast buffet, then at about 10 am lots of Yanks would be sat around the swimming pool eating massive hamburgers as they could not wait another hour until lunch time, I thought I was surrounded by beached whales.

Another time in Disneyland Florida with my kids, there were lots of extremely fat Americans in wheelchairs, I wondered why so many were disabled until I got the the open air restaurant, there were dozens of electric wheelchairs parked up with their occupants sat at tables eating, now and then one would get up and walk the twenty yards back to the wheelchair, sat down and then drove off.

They were just too fat or lazy to walk. 😄

It is at the bottom of two mountains, one going to Kath, Kathu and the other going to Karon.

I do remember driving through floods in Patong in the past in my car, it used to be very frequent 20 years ago.

Some of them are now expert guides having arrived, two years in a nice hotel by the sea, full board, all free, been deported and then returned via the same route on boats from France.

They are called multi-free-package holidays, it sounds like good fun. 🤣

So you are guessing, incorrectly,  that only British men have tattoos. Don't be so racist please.

Correct. The OP photo is a bit deceptive.

Not going to happen.  The land is controlled by a small group of families and they won't agree. The leaseholders won't agree either. Building sewage ditches won't help either because the a large part of Patong is at a sea level of 2-10 meters.  There are several natural streams that run through Patong, and they have been covered over and the stream's natural path obstructed. The Bangla Road area is completely built up and mostly paved over. There is nowhere for the ground water to go or drain to.

u mean tear down everything east of 200 year road?
back in the day, 80-90's Patong never flooded

Roid head will be at Doctor's office soon for skin rash....that is a dumb, dumb idea...

They could start with the creation  or restoration of natural absorption basis. It is  unnatural that everything is paved over from beach road inland. The water has nowhere to  go.

Back in the nineties Patong still had a large paddy field almost the length of Nanai Road. It absorbed all the rain and mountain water from Nanai Area. That was all built over with Jungcelon, market road. Then the new road. Only one small undeveloped plot at the end only Nanai 2 which has already been filled in ready for sale and development.

Of what, being fat and not being able to walk or the fact I did not want to sit around scoffing huge hamburgers as a mid morning snack?

It could go down drains if they had been built to a good standard in the first place.

I live on a private estate build by a very large company, the private roads they built in the complex drain very well, not even a few mm of surface water on the roads after very heavy rain.

When I go outside onto the pubic roads there is surface water everywhere, the difference, they were built by the governments chosen contractors.
