Police in Phuket have arrested a 46-year-old French national and a 31-year-old Thai ladyboy on drug dealing charges following a raid at a hotel on Sirirat Road in Pa Tong Subdistrict, Kathu District. The operation, carried out by officers from Pa Tong Police Station on October 25, was led by Pol. Col. Chalermchai Hoernsawat, Superintendent of Pa Tong Police Station, together with Pol. Lt. Col. Suchart Chumphuesaeng, Deputy Superintendent, and Pol. Capt. Saran Chaiwut, Investigation Inspector. The team discovered methamphetamine, a digital scale and plastic bags allegedly used for distribution. Both suspects have been charged with jointly dealing Category 1 narcotics (methamphetamine) by possessing the drugs with intent to distribute for commercial purposes.

During the search, officers seized 43.64 grams of methamphetamine, one digital scale and 40 small transparent plastic bags. The arrests followed an investigation into reports of illegal drug activities in the area, prompting police surveillance of the suspects’ hotel room before conducting the raid. The pair were apprehended without incident and taken to Pa Tong Police Station for questioning.

Police reported that the seized methamphetamine was packaged in a manner consistent with street-level drug distribution, suggesting the drugs were intended for local sale. This operation forms part of broader efforts by Phuket law enforcement to combat the increasing presence of narcotics in tourist areas. Investigators are now tracing the origin of the drugs and determining whether the suspects are part of a larger trafficking network.

Authorities have reiterated that offences involving Category 1 narcotics, such as methamphetamine, are subject to severe penalties under the law, including long prison sentences and substantial fines. Law enforcement agencies across Phuket have intensified drug suppression operations in response to rising incidents of narcotics trafficking involving both Thai nationals and foreigners.

The two suspects remain in police custody while the investigation continues. Once the case file is complete, it will be forwarded to the Phuket Provincial Prosecutor’s Office for legal proceedings. Investigators have confirmed they will examine further evidence, including electronic communications, to establish the full scope of the suspects’ activities.

I love this country as much as the next expat here but to throw away your life so stupidly to extend a dream rather than find a legal way to do it or put it on hold temporarily is a story that just plays out too many times to even comment on but I will no sympathy took the chance played the game and lost.

The holding cells & prisons must be bungling over with this drugs lot. Time to follow UK procedure & book them into 4-star hotels (breakfast & evening meals included).

Anyone involved in selling drugs don't get any sympathy from me jail and deport

Not needed here 😱

I have a hard time understanding why farangs think they can just blend in and get away with street dealing illegal drugs.  They stick out like sore thumbs and none can last more than a few weeks.  Since booze and cannabis is legal why bother with illegal drugs anyway?

Just noticed this, has somebody spiked my drink or has that policeman been on the blue diamond pills?
