Many of them are also found to be on visa overstay when the authorities finally decide to do their jobs. But this was just a small show for the cameras, like all the other "drug gang roundups". And there are 500 more like them in Bangkok that will lay low for a couple of weeks until things go back to normal. And how these guys often surround and approach someone on the street borders on outright harassment. It's all up and down Sukhumvit, so it's not just Soi 11. It runs from Soi 3 to Soi 15. And if you engage them at all, and don't want drugs, then they will move onto some black money or credit card scam instead. They are just a bunch of jobless criminals. There isn't one who isn't. It's a shame they are still able to pay for protection. It's really a discredit to everyone else just so that a few extra brown envelopes can get passed around.

Thai police . According to one of those africans, a man from sierra leone who i had an altercation with a few months ago, it was the police supplying and those dealers were untouchable. Obviously they forget to make payments to certain people, now arresting and making way for some new faces. It'll never end while there is money to be made

They get a warning when cops are about to do a sweep. Seen a Thai approach them ,then they all disappear. 15 minutes later a police patrol, big money business with many involved.

I told my Thai wife, why does Thailand even entertain the idea of allowing any West African men and women to enter the country. the vast majority are criminals and hookers. I would do a strict screening before leaving immigration. based on everything they have seen and know, I am willing to bet most would never get pass the gate after further investigation into their background.

I don't think it's easy to get a visa for Thailand with a West African passport. So I think most of those guys have fake passports from South Africa, or another country like Uganda. I'm surprised when they get arrested by the police for drugs that they know they're Nigerian. Maybe the police can tell the difference now between an East and West African, despite what the fake passports say. The women I think may be in a different category. They're all mostly East African from Kenya or Tanzania. They can get other types of visas for Thailand using their own passports, like a student visa, using an agent.
