A foreign man was injured after allegedly assaulting a ladyboy on a footpath in Bangkok’s Sukhumvit area, prompting a group of bystanders to chase and attack him in retaliation. The violent incident, captured on video and shared by ThaiRath and the Facebook news page You Know on October 27, has sparked calls for accountability.

The footage shows a foreign man in a black shirt repeatedly attacking a ladyboy in a yellow dress. He pushed the victim to the ground, kicked them several times and was dragged along the pavement while screaming for help. Despite attempts to defend themself, the victim was overpowered.

Several other ladyboys nearby shouted at the attacker to stop. One witness tried to intervene but was forced to flee when the man turned on them and threw rubbish in their direction. The exact date and time of the incident remain unclear, but a street sign in the video suggests it occurred in an alley off Sukhumvit Road.

Shortly after the assault, a group of Thai men who had witnessed the attack intervened. The footage later shows them chasing and attacking the foreign man in apparent retaliation for his actions. Towards the end of the video, the foreign man is seen lying on the ground with a bloodied head while one of the Thai men scolds him for his violent behaviour toward the ladyboy.

The extent of the foreign man’s injuries has not been officially confirmed, but witnesses described them as serious. Police have not yet released a statement or identified those involved in the incident. The motive behind the attack remains unclear.

Key Takeaways

• A foreign man attacked a ladyboy in Sukhumvit, Bangkok, before being beaten by witnesses.

• The incident was captured on video and circulated widely on social media.

• Police have not yet issued a statement or confirmed the identities or motives of those involved.

Mr. tough guy learnt his lesson.  Should have deescalated the issue, but wanted to fight Lima Bravos in Thailand.

Come to a foreign country and attack its people, don't be shocked when a  few dozen of 'em attack you back;  hell, in any of our home countries if some loser did this to one of our people he'd be in the godammn hospital - where he belongs

LOL, was that you in the video?

99%.

Give your best educated guess on what happened and then I’ll give mine.

Been coming to and long term stay for many years.

This type scenario never happens to me. There’s a reason why.

The mouth breather in the video is a slow learner.

Like every other story in Thailand, you usually only get one side.  A lot of those ladyboys around that area are pickpockets.  This guy was dumb to react the way he did regardless of what happened, but we don't know what exactly happened to set him off.

Just under the surface lies a violent society in thailand…

if that was a Thai guy who did that to a LB, would he be attacked by the local population?

hatred of foreigners (b/c Thais hate to be dependent on their money) is so prevalent here

So sure about that? There's endless streams of stories in America of some illegal immigrant that was arrested X times and never even deported. If some Thai tourist body slammed your wife and you punched him back they'd probably throw you in jail and give the tourist a fine.

If you have a death wish, go attack a lady-boy.

Check the shoes. Stilleto's are no go. Flat shoes means he (she) can run you down. Best to stay home.

It really doesn't matter what the situation is or what the scenario is, unless your life is being threatened you don't attack a Thai man or woman

If you win the fight you lose, and if you lose the fight you lose, there is just no way to come out ahead in this scenario. Take a deep breath and keep your cool.

There is no reason to ever attack someone unless it's self defense.

Do you live in Thailand?  If so, why do you stay if you have such a negative view of the country and its people?  You sound very unhappy.

Dude went from Foreign Man to Frankenstein. Assuming he has no permanent injuries, it was a valuable lesson. You attack one, you attack many. Walk away.

They like a good lynching here when a farang gets into a physical altercation with a native.

Never a good idea.

Something must have rattled him to start with. We only got the action with no story to go with it.
