So, you call other nationalities except Russians and Israelis for quality foreigners when engaging in criminal activities. Why on earth can´t you just accept the 49% ownership rule, or just go make your business somewhere else?

Blaming the israelis is ridiculous though, authorities have been threatening to investigate these companies for ages, mostly it will be Chinese, Russians and now Indians, dirty farang probably having the least businesses but many thai company houses and condos

I'm not sure what you guys are complaining about.

In a casino, the dealer always wins.

Thailand protects itself by 51% local ownership. Go ahead and start 1000 businesses. If they crap out, dealer wins and you lose. If it makes money, everyone stands to gain. You need to employ Thai workers. I literally met a Thai girls working in Ko Phangan. I didn't hear her complain about Israelis. Her employer was an Israeli and she seemed happy to have a good job.

Fact is, Isrealis are pumping money into the local economy and whatever nonsense is in the news is just noise. At the end of the day, money makes the world go round. If tourists behave badly, they are fined. All countries welcome business investment. In Europe, you even get citizenship if you invest a certain amount into a business.

Preliminary findings indicate suspicious land ownership valued at more than 152 million baht ($4.65 million), held by two Thai-registered companies in which Israeli nationals own 49% of the shares—the maximum foreign ownership allowed under Thai law.

Investigators discovered that another Israeli firm later purchased additional shares, creating a structure possibly designed to evade taxes and conceal true ownership while maintaining effective control beyond legal limits.

Surat Thani has been identified as Thailand’s second-highest risk area for nominee businesses. Investigators discovered that among 7,096 targeted legal entities nationwide, five Thai shareholders—one corporate entity and four individuals—were listed as shareholders in 256 companies based in Koh Phangan. More than 100 of these companies share the same registered office address, raising red flags about the legitimacy of these business structures.

I think the thai nominee party is over and I know who I am blaming for it.

Thousands of us will be caught up in this.

Everyone knows who you are blaming it on.

You probably blame bad weather and indigestion on them too.

This is the situation as reported on in the Israeli press.

Even they are not denying it.

Thai authorities have expressed growing frustration over the influx of foreign nationals, particularly Israelis, who enter the country as tourists, overstay their visas, and engage in business activities, including ventures deemed illegal by local law

As reported in the Jerusalem Post….

The incident reflects Thailand’s stated “zero tolerance” policy on narcotics but also highlights growing tensions between local communities and foreign nationals, many of them Israeli, who have settled on Koh Phangan.

Local activists have warned that the island is becoming a “second Tel Aviv,” accusing foreign business operators of exploiting visa loopholes and ignoring zoning regulations.

Online criticism has surged in recent weeks, with several Thai-language social media posts calling attention to the expanding Israeli presence on Koh Phangan. A Facebook page titled “Save Koh Phangan” featured multiple posts expressing concern that the island was turning into another Pai,

In recent years, Thailand has increasingly become a destination for Israeli nationals seeking to evade legal issues back home. Police in the Koh Phangan and Koh Samui regions reported numerous arrests of Israeli citizens involved in a range of offences, including operating unlicensed car rental services, working illegally, or serving as unregistered tour guides.

There are many Israelis running businesses aimed at other Israelis, such as villa rentals. They could be in trouble now,” one Israeli resident told Walla. “Thais don’t like foreigners running tourism-related operations. Legally, you can’t do that unless you’re married to a Thai national or operating within very narrow guidelines. Authorities say they will begin inspecting these businesses island-wide.”

But it’s important to stress that Thais themselves are not antisemitic.

We know how to conduct ourselves in a respectful manner towards our hosts.

We don’t go to restaurants and after eating then try to bargain the price down for example. We take our shoes of when requested  etc

I generally leave a tip.

Irrelevant. If you are breaking the law, you are breaking the law.

The Thais turned a blind eye for years but not anymore.

The Thais just want the land back, from illegal non Thai owners

@MalcolmB What’s with the nonstop fixation on that island? Do you actually live there, visit there, or have you even ever set foot on the place? Or are you just sat somewhere bored out of your mind with nothing better to rant about every day? It’s baffling how anyone could get so consumed by a tiny hippy island in southern Thailand and feel the need to start daily topics about it. Surely there’s something more interesting in Thailand you could bang on about, since that seems to be how you spend most of your waking hours.

This guy, will find any bits of news concerning Israel, Israelis, jews and Zionism to spread his contempt for the former,

the man has this sick, unrelenting fixation on anything to do with Israel, Israelis, jews and Zionism and derive a pleasure

out of having a vile comment whenever he can, and somehow, he's allowed to continue with this tired and regurgitated

subject and will not go until someone will stop it.

The point is more about the crackdown on Thai companies using nominees.

I understand that a lot of people will not immediately understand the consequences of this, but I don’t think there has ever been are more important issue facing foreigners in Thailand.

It will be life changing for many and will affect nearly all of us indirectly.

Do you have any companies.

Please explain how this  will affect all foreigners visiting or living  in Thailand indirectly.

If your breaking the law you should be shut down. If you have to work to live here then get the correct visa and permissions to stay and work legally.

There is '' highlighting'' and there is wallowing in immense pleasure of relentlessly sullying and bad mouthing a group of people

over and over again, and I'm sure, if it wasn't for this Gaza business, no one would even care about Israelis this or Israelis that.

But enough is enough, we all know that that some Israelis are misbehaving's and taking advantage of others,

not the end of the world, they're not killing or raping or disrespecting Thai people or Thai couture, so enough with it already.

So you admit the "Gaza business", killing/ maiming over 100 thousand Palestinians, obliterating the majority of the Palestinians civil infrastructure is causing a bit of bad press for Israeli citizens over here in the LOS, I wonder why?

Don't wonder why, walk a day in an Israeli shoe who are under relentless attacks from everywhere, where their people were young and old alike are killed, kidnapped, raped and under constant attacks from countries and terrorists groups all around Israel as from afar, Iran and Yemen, enemies who swore to kill every Jew and eliminate and wipe out Isreal, and then come and talk the BS you have saying, Thank you.

Enough is enough indeed. Time to crack down on the bad behaviour. They've been getting away with it for decades.

Don't shoot the messenger.

That is the truth, the truth that you and your kind don't see from you are or just don't want to see, because it goes

against those comforting feelings of getting up in the morning busying spreading hate together with that cup of coffee.

There are a lot of Israelis behind condo projects in Pattaya but condos are more foreigner friendly.

Without foreign buyers I expect a nasty crash in villa prices in tourist areas.

The attitudes and arrogance of the Russians and Israelis look like costing the rest of us a lot of money and less freedom.

They have crashed the party and now the police are closing the party down.

The only way left to do it looks like being married to a Thai.
And that to can be risky.

We are stuffed.

You are stuffed if you have been acting in an illegal manner. if your activities are legally compliant then you  will not have a problem.

When I was located in patong, this was a big issue with the illegal residential developments. Europeans were  the culprits at the time. Nothing really happened, because the  encroachments are still standing.

Not at all, this is the Thais being sick of them as reported in Thai news and tens of thousands of comments on Thai social media.

This is by far the biggest problem that Thais have with foreigners currently.

Your naivety just shows how out of touch you are with current affairs concerning Thais currently.

The Thai people are pushing back.

You pretending it isn’t happening won’t change a thing.
