  • First issue is you have to send money to your own bank account, not your wife's.

  • I always thought the initial 800k had to be shown as a foreign transfer which is why I’m asking if FTT via wise is the acceptable code for immigration.I will get a Thai bank when I come to Thailand on

  • But FTT sound to me the normal coding of it's Bangkok Bank.

Where did you obtain your Non O visa.

Suggest you read all the posts above from myself and others.

Stop red herrings.

For extensions the funds do not need to be international transfer

Clear enough??

Codes irrelevant.

The screenshot you posted clearly says "visa application" and NOT extension application.  We've said it more than 4 times now, if applying for the VISA in Thailand, then the money must be from overseas.

The extension does not have that requirement.

Ok I understand now that there is a difference between extension of non o and applying for the non o in Thailand

If you ever change to income method for extensions then yes the monthly transfers need to be from abroad.

Aside: obtaining bank statement in Thai language overcomes bank codes.

Will always use money in bank method but obviously don’t need to worry about bank codes anymore

No problem.

Enjoy your life in Thailand.

Just work out what suits you re money in bank method.

Many (most) guys just park 800k in bank.

Some even opt for FD account

I know just wanted to clarify the code

FTT is correct when money is transferred from abroad to Bangkok Bank. If you are transferring through Wise, you need to thick the box for "retirement" to obtain the FTT-code.

However, if you wish to apply domestically in Thailand for a non-immigrant O-visa based on retirement, funds need to be gtransferred from abroad to your own account; i.e., a Thai bankl account in your name. I you apply for the non-O abroad, there is no demand for origin of funds in your Thai bank account, when applying for an extention of stay based on retirement, just that the 800k baht deposit needs to be deposited fully two month before application date.

And, for the avoidance of any doubt, FTT stands for Foreign Telegraphic Transfer.

But of academic interest now to the OP since he'll be going down the 800k in the bank method for his retirement extensions.

If Thailand wants more foreign money, it's time to stop these absurd rules and make it hassle free either when sending in money or mainly if need to send it out back abroad, If not the actual rules will harm tourism, foreign investment, foreigners wanting to purchase property etc. Stop this Foreign Exhange Form requirement.

Yes, lets open the country even more for scammers and make it easier for them to get their money out of Thailand!
