Republican whipping in Virginia

Just because it never has happened is no proof that it's unsustainable. If someone in the 1930's were to use your kind of logic, that would be an argument against the percentage being above 8%

How do the dems plan on harvesting 1.8 to 2 trillion in extra revenue?

If trump was the greatest baseball player who ever lived, this forum would be making threads about how much he strikes out though.

nice comparison

I can understand Spanburger and Sherrill winning for governor in their respective states. Both had decent political resumes and were serious candidates.

But Virginians voting for Jay Jones as AG can only be seen as "the Syndrome" in action. He is obviously unfit for the office, both morally and in his experience.

In any case, I wish them all luck.

Good to know that you had no problem accepting the results of the 2020 presidential election

Well, Jones was important because he's insurance in case one member of the Virginia Senate decides not to vote for gerrymandering Va house districts.

The "whatabout" is strong in this one, Master ObiWan.

Don't know I'd call it a whipping, as only Rep governor since 2009, and a predominately Dem 'governor' state.   Only had 9 Rep govs since 1874.  More a surprise when out going gov, Youngkin won, in 2022.

Lefties cling to small things

No doubt one of those little cocktail wiener fingers has pressed the ALL CAPS button and Trump will be rage Tweeting all night after the passage of Prop 50.

Newsom can redistrict to pretty much guarantee a Dem House majority after the midterms, which means.....

IMPEACHMENT #3

If the economy continues to falter, as it is now with slow growth, rising unemployment, and rising inflation, the Dems might also retake the Senate, which means affirmation of the House impeachment. In fact, even the Republicans in the senate might convict, as they know their Party is dead if Trump and MAGA are their brand.

All that's left for the self-dealing crybaby is to invoke the Insurrection Act, declare martial law, and call off the midterm elections.

She barely won her US House of Rep seat in 2020, with only 1.8% of win over Rep candidate.

Though to her credit, she lost favor with the Dems, stating they need to stop with the extreme woke BS ... oops.

Knowing she probably wouldn't get the same support if running for US House again, wise choice stepping down to the Gov's chair 👍

But as another thread shows, the Republicans got brutalized on a more local level. Including, apparently, some seats that were considered safe for them.

Yet they run the country Placeholder. Clinging to small wins is desperate.

I would think going from a US House rep to Gov, is a bit of a demotion :coffee1:

A demotion? How many politicians have gone from the House of Representatives straight to the Presidency?

What's moreon the local level, Democrats trounced the Republicans. How does that translate into a likely loss for her  in 2026?

Small things amuse small minds. The election is 3 years away.

Most Americans would know that there's a Congressional election coming up in a year. (Maybe I should write possibly coming up in a year?)

Opinion polls in June 2028 matter. Nothing matters until then. You don't know much about US elections.

She's not woke, DEI enough, though in 3 yrs, that might be a good thing, as Dems realize, their silliness has been exposed, and why they got spanked last US House, Senate and Presidential election.

She did good though, probably a better job, overlooking the state, instead of fighting of pennies for her district, along with just being out of a job.

At least the pay is the same, actually a wee wee bit better.

I know that there's U.S. Congressional elections coming up in one year. Apparently, that's something you don't know. Which is a massive piece of ignorance.

Best thing that ever happened to the USA. Gave the regular folks a taste of the lying, authortarian future offered by the Dems

Look at the data.  I showed you data in the past.  Also, what do think will happen to investment and consumer spending if the feds extract an extra 1.8 to 2 trillion from the economy?

The same kind of nonsense was directed against Bill Clinton when he raised taxes. How did the economy do back then?

The President gets elected in Nov 2028. Vance is current fav. You have a lot to learn.

"Democratic candidates won all 30 of Northern Virginia's seats in the Virginia House of Delegates on Tuesday as the party was set to significantly expand its 51-49 majority in the state's lower chamber.

As of 11 p.m., Democrats had picked up 13 seats statewide, according to the Virginia Public Access Project. With only one race undecided, the Democrats will hold at least 64 of the 100 seats, the most they have held in nearly 40 years."

Huh.  Turns out being the party responsible for firing all of the federal workers wasn't a winning strategy in an area with the largest concentration of federal workers in the country.

True. But even in Trump's victory of 2024, the Republicans actually lost a few seats in the House. And in 2018 the Republicans  lost a massive amounts of seats in the House.
