Doj is very active lately.

"According to a report from the New York Times, the Department of Justice (DOJ) is investigating D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser after she took a foreign trip that was paid for by Qatar.

The report on Thursday said that Bowser took this trip with members of her staff in 2023".

I wonder how the DOJ is going to keep a straight face on this one.

DC Mayor Bowser is not under investigation, Pirro says after report on Middle East trip
“Mayor Bowser is not under investigation, nor is she the target of any investigation,” U.S. Attorney for D.C. Jeanine Pirro said in a statement.
By Paul Wagner, News4 Reporter • Published 4 hours ago • Updated 4 hours ago

D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser responded to reports that she is under federal investigation for an overseas trip she took in 2023. She said they’re not true – and U.S. Attorney for D.C. Jeanine Pirro confirmed that Bowser is not under investigation.

Just after noon on Friday, Pirro made an extraordinary statement, saying Bowser is not under investigation.

“Mayor Bowser is not under investigation, nor is she the target of any investigation,” Pirro said in a statement.

For years, the policy of the U.S. attorney’s office was to neither confirm nor deny the existence of any investigation.

According to the NYT it screwed up, didn't it.

DOJ is investigating  the trip. If they find maleficence or wrong doing . bring it to another

jurisdiction . DC  courts & juries lack common sense.

NYT  owes its delusional readers a apology.

Just because the Trump DOJ repeatedly gets castigated by judges for dishonesty is no reason to believe its claims over those of the NY Times...oh wait a minute...

Trump’s DOJ Investigating Lobbyist Tied to D.C. Mayor Bowser’s Qatar Trip

updated Nov 07, 2025

The DOJ investigation into Bowser began after an April WJLA-TV report that raised questions about a 2023 trip she and four staff members took to Dubai for a United Nations climate conference, the Post reported Thursday. Bowser’s office initially said the trip was funded by the D.C. Chamber of Commerce, then later by the U.S. Conference of Mayors, before acknowledging that the organization had paid only part of the cost.

After the Washington television report aired, the Foundation for Accountability and Civic Trust — once led by former acting Attorney General Matthew Whitaker, now U.S. ambassador to NATO — filed an ethics complaint. A letter later surfaced showing that Qatar had paid more than $61,000 to cover Bowser’s travel and accommodations in Doha before she and her staff continued to Dubai, according to the Post on Thursday.
