Where to stay in Krabi.

Featured Replies

Looking for a recommendation for a nice place to stay in Krabi for 5 day break over Songkran 2026.

Priority is a hotel with swimming pool, balconies, and close to all amenities.

I would recommend any of these 3

Phulay Bay, a Ritz‑Carlton Reserve

Banyan Tree Krabi, Tan Kaek Beach

Dusit Thani Krabi, Khlong Mueang Beach

All have spectacular ocean view rooms, swimming pools and all amenities within the resort.

Very nice and so they should be for circa 30K per night.

Daughter's budget is 10-15K for 5 nights.
Not concerned about ocean views.

Or hotel amenities with that budget, during one of the most expensive holidays, in one of the most expensive provinces, if choosing tourist locations.

Where in Krabi province was she considering, as it's a bit large with diverse options for a holiday.

Maybe she should join, as answers could actually be helpful, if knowing a whole lot more.

Krabi is a wee bit vague on location.

If you mean Krabi Town then we stayed at the River Front Hotel last month, comfortable rooms, excellent pool, not central but an easy walk into town along the river front. If you mean Ao Nang, no idea, it's a zoo.

Highly recommend Golden Bay Cottages on the island of Koh Lanta. It's about a 2-hour bus ride from Krabi Airport, with scenic views, followed by a short ferry ride.

If you're really considering going on or around that time frame, then be prepared to pay!

Thanks for replies.

As noted, this may be the wrong and most expensive time to go.
Prices reduce by half beginning of May.

I've been to Aonang for the last couple of Songkrans.  The location is a great place to celebrate the festival.  I tend to stay at Krabi Heritage.  Two minute walk from Aonang beach. Normally reasonably priced too.

Twin Bay Resort. Great Place, Reasonable Price! As the name suggests, it's on a peninsula and has a pool and Restaurant👍

A few weeks ago we stayed at Centara and liked it.  Nice room with balcony and seaview.  Two pools, gym, good breakfast buffet.  Close to everything.

Sleep Whale 👍🏼

If talking about Ao Nang beach:

Timber house resort has been our go to for years, reasonable prices, awesome pool, recently renovated rooms

Walking distance to Ao Nang beach to the east with the main tourist strip (in red below) with restaurants and bars etc (I don't like the feel of this side, bit look much like Patong Phuket for me)

Its also walking distance to the quieter Nopparatthara Beach to the west (in green below), this beach was always a bit more local and quieter than the main tourist Ao nang strip but has night market and restaurants etc
