Hi,

There was another thread a while back about renaming/nicknaming Hang Dong. That reminded me of my nickname for the Koolpunt Ville subdivisions which I drive past many times every week on my way to and from Chiang Mai and Sanpatong. Try switching the K and the P in the word Koolpunt and see what you get... :o I laugh every time I pass that sign by the road. It must be a nice place to live - and an even better one if it has a pool...

Those Kool Punt Villas are everywhere, and they go on and on forever. You need a map to navigate most of them. My friend lives four guard stations off the road. Another family lives at least 9 turns inside the Sony Gate. I think one family lives in KoolPunt Villa #978, six kilometers off of Hang Dong Road.

TIP

They are great places if you are teaching someone how to drive . Some nice wide roads, not too many things to hit; but could do without the water features! :o Make sure they know exactly where the brakes are!
